If you know me, or have hung out with me on a weekend, you know I like a good glass of wine. It is usually my drink of choice. Assuming I am not out with the girls enjoying chips, guacamole, and margaritas. But at home, enjoying a good glass of wine with the perfect dip makes for a great evening.

This goat cheese dip is creamy, cheesy, made with fresh rosemary and garlic. It is a huge hit every time I serve it, and always disappears.

ingredients for goat cheese dip

What You’ll Need For Goat Cheese Dip

  • Goat Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Olive Oil
  • Rosemary
  • Garlic
  • Crushed Red Pepper
  • Salt

The baked goat cheese dip is very easy to make, and you can even make it ahead of time.  I mixed all of the ingredients together in a bowl early in the day, and then just baked it when we were ready to eat. You could even put it in a small crock pot if you were making it for a party.

How to Make Goat Cheese Dip

  1. Start with a log of goat cheese. You want to get the original not one with herbs or anything mixed in already
  2. Add the Parmesan cheese and spices and mix together until creamy.
  3. Spread into a small baking dish and bake until hot and bubbly
  4. Serve with crackers, crusty bread, pita chips or even veggies!

One question that comes up a lot is; Is Feta Goat Cheese?  First of all, feta is not a substitute for this recipe.  You really need to use real goat cheese.  Feta is made from sheep’s milk or a mixture of sheep and goat milk. It has a crumbly grainy texture that is different than goat cheese. If you buy feta in the US, it is often times made with cows milk.  So no, feta is not goat cheese.

Goat Cheese Dip Variations

This recipe calls for rosemary and garlic, but you really can switch it up using all sorts of different herbs and flavor.

  • Use fresh thyme
  • Add caramelized onions
  • Jalapeno gives it a little kick
  • Top with cherry tomatoes when you bake it
  • Crumbled bacon is always a good idea.

Can You Make This Ahead

Yes, I like to mix everything together, cover and store in the fridge until it is almost time to serve. Then you can bake it to get it nice and hot. You could also put it in a small crock pot and keep on warm to serve at a party.

This is my go to dip! Great recipe! I accidentally bought thyme the first time I made it and since then have been making it with thyme instead of rosemary. I have had multiple people ask me for the recipe! It’s delicious! Thank you!
