Italian Herb Dipping Sauce

Italian Herb Dipping Sauce - a great vinaigrette for salad or dipping bread

I just realized that it is getting to be the end of September, and I have no idea what my son is going to be for Halloween.  It is just over a month away, and we haven’t even talked about it.  We don’t usually just go to the store and buy a costume, so I really need to get my act together and start working.  We have done Harry Potter before and last year he was a football player. So it is time to start brainstorming!  If anyone has any great ideas, I would love to hear them!

Italian Herb Dipping Sauce {Dinners, Dishes, and Desserts}

We probably eat way more bread at my house than is necessary.  There is just something about a loaf of artisan bread that we can not get enough of.  We also love to dip our bread in olive oil, at least that part is heart healthy.  Often we combine Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and olive oil to make a dipping sauce.  Sometimes we just use balsamic vinegar and olive oil.  And sometimes, we really like to take it up a notch and make an Italian herb dipping sauce.  It is almost like an Italian vinaigrette with lots of fresh herbs.  Perfect for dipping bread, or even to use on your salad.

STAR single packet red wine vinegar and olive oil

STAR Fine Foods now has these single-serving packets of red wine vinegar and olive oil.  They are perfect to make enough dipping sauce for just a couple people.  I also love that you can just throw a couple of the packets in your purse, and you do not have to worry about what salad dressings are at  restaurants.  The packets are also great for taking your lunch to work, no need to bring and entire bottle of dressing.  No clean up required, just open and toss the empty containers.

I have been craving this since I pinned it a couple days ago, so glad my toddler and I made it to go with our lunch salad today! He and I both gobbled it right up with a french baguette. Thank you so much for the recipe! It was delicious :)
