I can’t believe that Easter is just over a week away.  It seems so early this year.  We are just getting back from our spring break trip to Arizona, so I only have a week to get ready.  We decided to drive down and family and friends while my son was off school for a few days.  We got to see a couple spring training games, visit my good friend Mary from Barefeet in the Kitchen, and enjoy some warm weather.  We have had great weather in Colorado so far, but my son got to play in the pool, so still a little warmer in Arizona.  But now to get ready for Easter!  How about some Creme Egg Fudge to get you in the mood?

One of my dear friends has a cookie exchange every year.  She has a house full of people that all bring 3 dozen cookies, packaged in groups of 6, and place them around her large dining room table.  We visit, sip champagne and snack on delicious appetizers.  Then to end the night we all get in a long line and take turns walking around the table.  Each time around the table, you get to take 1 package of cookies, until there are none left.  So you go home with 6 packages of cookies that you picked out, all baked by different people.  It is a super fun night, and I always come away with yummy treats.  At this cookie exchange my friend always serves her Reese’s fudge, which is one of my favorite things ever.

Sugar Cookie Fudge

Sugar Cookie Fudge – all the flavor of sugar cookies in a quick and easy fudge.

Sugar Cookie Fudge

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and enjoyed a nice long weekend.  We traveled to Wisconsin to spend the holiday with our family.  It was nice to take a week off, enjoy time with family, and just relax.  While we were there we took our 9 year old to see his first Wisconsin Badger game.  They were playing for the Big Ten Western Division Title against Minnesota.  It was a close game, but we ended up winning.  The weather was as good as you could hope for during the end of November, so it was the perfect day.  Now our 9 year old is set on going to school in Madison, so he can go to all of their games.

Peanut Butter Cup Fudge

Time for another installment of Christmas Week!  Have you checked out the rest of the week, and all the great giveaways going on?  Don’t miss my Frosted Sugar Cookies (Magimix giveaway), Pomegranate Margaritas (Le Creuset giveaway), and Homemade Caramels (Swissmar Giveaway).  Stay tuned for tomorrow; more cookies and a giveaway worth over $250!  But in the mean time, I have chocolate and peanut butter.  Quite possibly the worlds best flavor combination.

Peanut Butter Cup Fudge

My all time favorite fudge is something we have been making since I was a kid.  But I am always up to try something new.  So this year, I decided to go the peanut butter route.  I saw this recipe over at Crazy for Crust months ago, and knew I just had to make it.  It is super easy, no thermometer, or boiling sugar….just melt and go.  Plus add in peanut butter cups, because life is just better with them.

Peanut Butter Cup Fudge

Seriously, this peanut butter cup fudge could not get any easier.  I think it took about 10 minutes, and it was cooling and just waiting for me to slice into it.  That has to be the hardest part; waiting for it to harden.   When Dorothy made the fudge she topped with with peanuts.  Great idea, but I am not a fan of nuts with my desserts.  I know that is strange, but I just don’t like it.  So I decided why not just add more peanut butter cups.  You can decide which way you like better :)  As for the giveaway, I am jealous!!  The new Pioneer Woman cookbook is on my Christmas list this year.  And I used Freund products when I made my spice rack this year.  I have other projects on my to do list that they would be perfect for (organizing my pantry).

Fudge #SundaySupper

Holidays are all about family, friends, and tradition.  Today, Beate from Galactopdx is hosting this #SundaySupper “Home for the Holidays” event. We are all sharing recipes and traditions from our families.

In my family we have a tradition of making fudge every Christmas Eve.  We don’t make it any other day of the year, just the 24th.  It has to be one of my all time favorite holiday treats.  You can often find me sneaking pieces Christmas morning while we are opening presents.  This is the recipe we have been making in my family forever.  I believe it was originally from the back of the marshmallow fluff jar, but I am not completely sure.  You can easily add nuts if that is your thing, but I am a purist and like it without.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas, and enjoy your time with family and friends.  I am taking a couple days off from the blog, but will be back with lots of appetizer ideas for your New Years parties.
