We made it to Friday!!  Yay!  And I made brownies to celebrate.  My son doesn’t have school today, so we get to hang out and spend time together.  He wants to go to the driving range, so we are headed there and then to lunch together. The weather should be gorgeous, so I am all about any time outside! Tomorrow we are headed to the district science fair, so we will see how that goes.  He gets to present his project to the judges and compete against all the other elementary schools in our district – that is a lot of schools!  A lot of pressure for a 10 year old, but I am sure he will have fun!

Last time I needed an oil change, I called to make an appointment.  So this time when I needed one, I called again.  They told me that they do it on a 1st come, 1st serve basis.  So I asked when was a slow time, and I would have the least wait.  They said 7:30 am when they first open or between 2-3pm.  So I went at 1:45, hoping I would haven’t to wait too long.  90 minutes. They told me it would be 90 minutes.  I had to pick my son up from school, so that was not an option.  The next day, as soon as I dropped my son off at school I went straight there; arriving at 8:45 am.  I was told I was the next car.  Over 90 minutes later I was finally leaving.  Since when does it take so long to change the oil in a car?!?!?

No Bake Peanut Butter Puffs Bars #biggcerealmovies

No Bake Peanut Butter Puffs Bars - Peanut butter, peanut butter candies, peanut butter cups, and peanut butter puff's cereal!

I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July weekend!  We were busy spending time with friends, going to a Colorado Rockies game, getting in a good hike, going on a bike ride, and getting to watch fireworks.  It was so much fun, but kind of exhausting at the same time!  I kind of need a nap just thinking of all that we accomplished in the last 3 days.  Or at least a good solid week of relaxation!  Or maybe just movie night, where I can doze off a little :)  Make sure you get to the bottom for a great giveaway that involves free movies!

Peanut Butter Brownies w/ Peanut Butter Cup Frosting

Peanut Butter Brownies w/ Peanut Butter Cup Frosting

Who watched the Wisconsin vs Kentucky basketball game on Saturday night?  Such a tough loss for the Badgers.  They played so well, and then lost by 1 point in the final seconds of the game.  Only the 3rd time in school history that they have made it this far,  so no matter what, it was a great season!  I just wish it could have ended differently.  My 8 year old had 2 more football games this weekend.  It was a tough 2 games as well!  The first game was a tie, and the 2nd game they lost by just 1 touchdown.  So much stress for a weekend!

Peanut Butter Cup Blossom Cookies #25recipestoXmas

December is here.  Christmas is right around the corner.  You know what that means right?  Cookies, and treats all month long!  Ok, maybe there will be one or two that aren’t Christmas related, but the rest of the month will be getting you ready for the big day.

Today, I am helping out my good friend Roxana from, Roxana’s Home Baking with her 25 recipes to Christmas!  I am super excited to be a part of this great group she has going.  Plus she has great giveaways going on with it too, so don’t miss it!

I made an over the top, kicked up version of my favorite Christmas cookie.  Trust me, these are worth breaking your diet for.  Go tell Roxana Hi, and check out these cookies!

Peanut Butter Banana Bread

If your house is anything like mine, you are still knee deep in Halloween candy.  I let my son have one piece of candy in his lunch, and then if he is lucky he can have another piece after dinner.  Needless to say, it lasts a really long time around here.

This bread is perfect for those leftover Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.  If you haven’t stashed them away for yourself, that is.  Or maybe that is just me :)  The bread also uses up those browning bananas you have on the counter or stashed in your freezer.  See, I am here to help! And because it is me, and I don’t know when to stop I added a layer of Nutella on top.  Jean made this Nutella Banana Bread, and I just couldn’t get it out of my mind.

I am not usually a big fan of plain banana bread.  There is just too much banana flavor.  I realize that doesn’t make much sense.  I like bananas, but only every once in awhile.  So when I saw this recipe that added peanut butter to the batter I was exited to give it a try.  There is still a hint of banana in the background, but the peanut butter really shines through.  And then every once in awhile you get a bite with a peanut butter cup, and you are in heaven!

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Sandwich Cookies

What is your favorite cookie?  I have a really hard time narrowing it down, it seems to change often.   In the end, I always fall back to the classic Chocolate Chip Cookie, but it has to be straight out of the oven. I have been making the same recipe since I was a little kid, so that might be part of it.

So last week I gave you Nutella Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies.  This week I am bringing you another crazy cookie.  This one is thanks to Shelly at Cookies and Cups.   I mean look at these things!  They are 2 chocolate chip cookies, with a peanut butter cup in the middle.  The peanut butter cup gets all melty, and sticks everything together.  Peanut Butter Cups are pretty much my favorite candy, so adding them to my favorite cookie makes for one insanely good treat!

I surprised my 7 year old with one of these in his lunch.  He came home so excited, and wanting more.  He was very upset to find out I only made a few of them.  But really, if I had more than 5 of these in the house it would not be pretty.  But I do have more cookie dough in the freezer, so I can make them fresh whenever the mood strikes.

Healthy Peanut Butter Cups

Healthy Peanut Butter Cups
It is Secret Recipe Club Time!!  I had to take off last month because of moving but  am back at it again.  Before we get started I wanted to announce the winners from my International Delight Giveaway.

Winner 1 – Kesha
Winner 2 – Amy
Check your email ladies, so I can send you your prize.

For Secret Recipe Club this month I was assigned Quick and Easy, Cheap and Healthy.  This site is full of so many great and healthy recipes, as well as shopping deals, coupon links, menu planning, and much more.  She was actually assigned my blog one of the first months that I participated in SRC!  Check out her take on my Cinnamon Roll Muffins.  I had a couple recipes picked out including this Pizza, but as usual my sweet tooth won out.

The original recipe is made with Sunbutter, due to allergies.  Fortunately, we do not have allergies here, so I just used peanut butter.  These are a fun treat to have in the fridge or freezer.  They melt quickly, so I kept them in the fridge.  I currently have a few in the freezer to pull out in a chocolate emergency :)
