Last week I shared with you our trip to Sea World. This week I am going to share about another day of our trip. The first day we were in California we went to Legoland. My 8 year old loves his Legos, but my husband is slightly obsessed as well. None of us had ever been to Legoland before, so it was such a fun and exciting day for all of us.
We went to the park on a Friday. Legoland was open from 10-5 the day we were there. We arrived around 9:30. They opened the gates about 9:45, so people could start heading into the front of the park. They did not actually let you all the way in until 10:00. We headed straight the Castle Hill area of the park. Here we were able to ride on a few of the roller coasters before they got too much of a line. We even road on the Knights’ Tournament (which is probably their biggest ride), a couple times with only a 5 minute wait first thing in the morning. Late in the afternoon it was closer to 45 minutes. So head there right away!
One of my 8 year olds favorite parts of the day was Driving School. They have a mini city set up, with intersections, stop lights intersections etc. And the kids get to drive little Lego cars around. It is hilarious to watch some of the kids have no idea how to turn a car, and others paying attention to every stop sign they see.
Right now Legoland has the set from the Lego Movie on display. I believe it is there until September. It was fun to be able to see it. It goes by so quickly in the actual movie, it was great to be able to see it close up and notice the details. I think they said they had master builders put together the set, before they even told them what it was for. So all of these people were working on this project, and they had no idea how huge it was going to be.
Miniland was probably the favorite part of the whole day for everyone. It was crazy to see how much they have built with Legos. They have set ups of San Francisco, Washington D.C., New York, New Orleans, Southern California, New England, and an incredible display from Star Wars. I think we probably could have walked around this area for hours just looking at it.
Our day at Legoland was a great day for the whole family! If you are in the area, I strongly suggest you take your family to visit.
**I was not compensated for this post. Legoland did provide me with tickets. I was not asked to write or post anything. I am sharing this because we loved our day. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
