Valentine’s Day is all about indulgences when it comes to food. Chocolate, truffles, fancy dinners; all indulgences. It is one of the few days of the year that you can have as much chocolate as you want and it is acceptable. Don’t worry, I take full advantage.
This year instead of getting candy or going out to a fancy dinner, I am going to have this Truffle cake from Cold Stone Creamery. Thick layers of red velvet cake, chocolate truffle ice cream, topped with a chocolate ganache and chocolate shavings. That sounds over the top indulgent doesn’t it? It is the perfect dessert to share with the whole family, or just that special someone. Traditionally we stay home on Valentine’s Day. There are just too many people and it is not worth the hassle of trying to find a babysitter. At this point in our lives, I would much rather just stay at home and enjoy some family time. But that doesn’t mean an indulgent dessert isn’t in order. And if I can get a break, and not have to bake, that is good too!
Cold Stone Creamery calls the cake “They Call It Truffle Love”. You can order your cake ahead of time online. What kind of a star would you be to show up at home with an ice cream cake instead of flowers? Even if you do go out for dinner, coming home to enjoy dessert, is so much better than sitting in a crowded restaurant for longer. And trust me, having this heart shaped dessert in your freezer the next day is not a bad thing!
So head on over, and place an order for your cake! Trust me, everyone in your life will thank you!
