Week in Review 1/21/12

What a busy week!  We have started the process of looking for appliances for our new house.  I have expensive tastes :)  Double ovens with a 48 inch gas cooktop is not cheap.  I might have to scale back just a tad.  It is fun to look no matter what though! Never thought I would say it is fun to look at appliances; must mean I am getting old!  It has been close to 60 degrees for the past couple of days, that is a January I could get used to.  Yesterday my 6 year old was out playing without a jacket, that is just crazy!

This is what I was up to this week:
English Muffins – fresh homemade English Muffins, so much better than store bought and pretty easy to make.
Creamy Cajun Pasta – a lightened up creamy pasta with a kick.
Malted Double Chocolate Chip Cookies – possibly the best cookie I have had in a long time.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chips Cookies – Pancakes with Peanut Butter Chocolate Chips and topped with a Peanut Butter Chocolate Syrup.
Lemon Raspberry Muffins – a healthy raspberry muffins with a hint of lemon.

Here are a few things I have bookmarked of yours this week:
Carraba’s Champagne Chicken by Plain Chicken – I love Carraba’s, this chicken looks so good!
Salted Pretzel Rolls by My Life as a Mrs – Who doesn’t love a soft pretzel? To get to eat them as a roll with dinner?  Yum!
Quinoa Cakes with a Lemon Garlic Aioli by Dishing the Devine – I need more recipes for Quinoa, this looks like a good one!
Nutella Stuffed Chocolate Chips Cookies by Kirbie’s Cravings – I have an obsession with Nutella, and I love cookies – this looks sinful!
Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Muffins by Top with Cinnamon – You know I love muffins, and chocolate – how could these NOT be amazing!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I just moved too and am hoping my stove dies. I would love to replace it with something fancy like what you’re looking at…*sigh* A girl can dream 😉 You had a wonderful week again….and the links from others are fab (especially those muffins!!) Have a great weekend!

  2. Mmmmmm… I’m still not sure what I want more; the Cajun Chicken or the malted cookies. So I’ll just need to fix both 😀

  3. When my husband and I moved to Connecticut our house didn’t have central air. By the time our anniversary rolled around in June we were dying. We bought ourselves a window AC unit for our anniversary present, came home and sat in front of it oohing and aahing. Never thought I’d be so excited to get an AC for my anniversary, but boy was I!

  4. If money was no object, my house would be one giant kitchen!

  5. Just reading all of your links made my mouth water!

  6. I dream about double ovens. That should stay on the list…for my sake!

    • Double ovens are staying for sure! I think I just have to go with a 36 in (6 burner) cooktop. Which in all honesty, is plenty.
