Week in Review 3/24/12

The weekend is here!  Last night we had movie night as my husband’s work.  We got dinner, popcorn, candy, drinks, and watched Happy Feet 2.  Love family friendly work sponsored events!  This week I joined a cooking club.  It is a group of women that meet once a month, in my neighborhood.  Each month they focus on a different region of the world.  Yesterday was the Middle East.  For the first time ever (I think the club has been going on for a few years, and each year they pick a different theme), the group went out to lunch.  We went to a local Afghan restaurant.  The owner is actually from Afghanastan, so I think it was pretty authentic.  It was delicious!  I had a Chicken Kabob (boring, I know), Potato Korma (amazing), and Naan bread.  The whole meal was really good, I was impressed!  Next month is the Mediterranean!

Here is what I was up to this week:
Pretzel Rolls – Giant soft pretzel in the form of a dinner roll, so easy to make
Beef Chili – Hearty and thick chili, with or without beans
Indian Spiced Nuts – Cashews and Pistachios roasted and mixed with a blend of Indian spices
Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie – A healthy smoothie with strawberries and pineapple
Brownie Batter Pancakes – Pancakes that actually taste like brownie batter, and they aren’t horrible for you either

Here are a few things I bookmarked this week:
Brown Butter Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies by Liv Life – Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Brown Butter – I need to try these!
Real Chicken Teriyaki by Just One Cookbook – Authentic made Chicken Teriyaki, not just some sauce in a bottle!
Whole Grain Basil Bread by The Diva Dish – I love fresh bread, and this sounds wonderful with the basil in it!
Trail Mix Scones by Steph’s Bite by Bite – Holy heck, you have to see these!  I want these for breakfast now!
Cookie Sticks by Cookies & Cups – These little sticks are so cute, and sound like a fun twist on cookies!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
