Week in Review 7/7/12

We have our first official non-family visitors this weekend!  We have friends from Iowa here, and are very excited to show them around.  Yesterday we drove up to the mountains, went hiking, and enjoyed the outdoors.  Tonight we get to go out for dinner, while all the kids stay home!  As soon as they leave I need to pack like crazy.  We move next weekend, and I am not quite ready.  Nothing like a little procrastination :)

I wanted to remind you of the Colorado Wildfires Bake Sale I am hosting tomorrow.  I have almost 45 items to bid on, and 3 amazing prizes that will be raffled off.  Please tell your friends, tweet about it, share on Facebook, pin this badge, whatever it takes to spread the word!

Here is what I was up to this week:
Mexican Quinoa Salad with Creamy Avocado Dressing – Quinoa with black beans, corn, other veggies and topped with creamy avocado dressing.  Great warm or cold.
Apricot Frozen Yogurt – Guest post from Jean at Lemons and Anchovies.  A smooth and creamy frozen yogurt.
Patriotic Fruit Skewers - Guest post from Ramona at Curry for Comfort.  A fun and simple way to serve fruit for a party!
Colorado Wildfire Bake Sale Preview – Check out all the great items up for the bake sale tomorrow.
Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade - Fun and refreshing flavored lemonade.
Strawberry Rhubarb Swirl Ice Cream – Guest post from Carolyn at All Day I Dream About Food.  Gorgeous strawberry rhubarb sauce swirled in a creamy vanilla ice cream.

Here are a few things I bookmarked this week:
Funfetti Granola Bars by Itty Bitty Bakes – I love making homemade granola bars, and who doesn’t love funfetti everything!
Cheesy Taco Chicken Tenders by Cinnamon Spice & Everything Nice – My son loves when we make chicken tenders at home.  This sounds like something he would go crazy for!
Andes Mint Chocolate Cake by Mommie Cooks – I am a huge fan of chocolate and mint, this cake looks heavenly!
Grown-Up Funfetti Milkshake by Bakeaholic Mama – I can’t really say anything about this, I just need to make it now!
Classic Blueberry Pancakes by Pass the Sushi via Rachel Cooks – These look so light and fluffy.  The perfect pancakes!
