Carnita Pizza – Leftover Pork Carnitas? Turn it into pizza! Topped with cheese and guacamole.
Turning leftovers into a new meal is one of my favorite things to do! Whenever we make Smoked Pork Butt I always to make sure we have plenty extra for Air Fryer Quesadillas and Pork Tacos.
Pizza is always a favorite with everyone, so using Carnitas makes pizza night even better!
What You’ll Need
- Pork Carnitas
- Pizza Dough
- Salsa
- Cheese
- Guacamole
For this pizza you don’t want to use traditional pizza sauce, you want something with more Mexican flavors. I used salsa, your favorite store bought or this Fire Roasted Salsa works really well. You could also use Enchilada Sauce instead for even more flavor.
I like to top with Guacamole, but you could top with your favorite taco toppings as well!
- Diced Tomatoes
- Jalapenos
- Pickles Onions
- Black Olives
How To Make Carnitas Pizza
- If you have a pizza stone, this is the time to break it out and use it! Preheat oven to 450º F. Place pizza stone in the oven to preheat. Don’t worry, you can just use a regular baking sheet if you don’t have one.
- Roll out the dough and place on baking sheet dusted with cornmeal. Use a fork to poke holes over the top of the crust. This will ensure it doesn’t puff up as it bakes. Bake for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove dough from oven, and spread salsa or enchilada sauce evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle with cheese and spread meat over the cheese.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, slice, and serve with guacamole.
What Cheese To Use
I used Mozzarella cheese with this, just because that is what I had. But you can really use whatever you like. Cheddar, Mexican blend, or eve Cotija cheese works great!

This looks really good. Carnitas are a favorite of mine. I can see nothing wrong with adding it to pizza. In fact it sounds like a solid plan to me.
