Christmas Peppermint Patties

Christmas Peppermint Patties – Red, white and green striped cool mint patties dipped in dark chocolate.  An easy homemade candy for the holidays. 

I am so ready for the weekend, but it is only Thursday.  Something about this week has just got me beat!  I have been working crazy hours, trying to get everything done, so I can take some time off when my son is home for Christmas break.  Most of the times that he has days off from school, I still have to work. Hopefully this break, I can keep work to a minimum and actually enjoy time with my family.  Novel idea!

Peppermint Patties are one of my favorite candies.  They are one of my biggest weaknesses, and once I start eating them, I have a hard time stopping.  My Dark Chocolate Mint Cupcakes are filled with a peppermint pattie like filling.  Usually, I am a more of a milk chocolate kind of girl, but when it comes to mint, I am all about coating it in dark chocolate.  The coolness and sweetness of the filling just goes perfectly with the dark chocolate.

Christmas Peppermint Patties are actually pretty easy to make.  There are a few steps involved, but the hands on work time is not that much.  They look super impressive, but you don’t have to give anyone your secret.  The dough comes together in just a few minutes, then you just have to mix in the color, and roll into sheets.  To get the red, white, and green stripes, you stack the sheets, and roll into a log.  From there you just slice into disks and dip in chocolate.  The dough does have to chill a couple times.  But seriously, if I can make these, anyone can!  I am not a crafty person at all!  Set out these Christmas Peppermint Patties one your holiday tray, and your guests will devour them!
