Most of our afternoons during the summer are spent going to our neighborhood pool. My 9 year old often finds a few friends at the pool, and I sometimes have a friend that I can talk to while the kids swim. Inevitably after about 45 minutes of swimming the kids come over and want to know if they can have a snack, or go buy a treat at the counter. We can usually manage to push them off for 10 minutes or so, but then they are back. Apparently swimming takes a lot out of you!
Recently I was given the chance to try Fruttare Fruit Bars. I have seen them in the freezer section at the grocery store before, I just haven’t tried them. So I took my 9 year old with me, and let him pick out which flavor we tried. He chose Strawberry. There are 10 flavors to try – including lime, strawberry & milk, mango and others. When I was checking out, the girl even commented on how much she loved them. Apparently I have really been missing out! We saved the fruit bars until after a long day at the pool. We got home, showered, and each sat down to have our treat. I am kind of annoyed we waited so long!
Fruttare fruit bars have chunks of real strawberries in them. They are so refreshing and perfect for a hot day. And with only 60 calories in each bar, I don’t have to feel guilty about having one! Because, if I am going to be sitting by the pool every afternoon, you know I don’t need to be downing pints of ice cream as well! So instead of buying treats at the pool, we are now bringing a box of these frozen fruit bars to share with friends. I can’t wait to try more of the flavors too, I have my eye on the lime one next time.

I don’t have to say anything. The glowing face of your child says it ALL. I love fruit bars.
