Happy Valentine’s Day! Hug and kiss the ones you love today. Tell them you love them. That is about the extent of my Valentine’s Day celebration. I made my husband and son each a cute little card, but that is about it. I am out of Valentine’s Day themed treats 🙁 Here they are again in case you missed. them.
BUT I did bring Nutella! If there are any guys out there, make these for your wife/girlfriend and you will be in like Flynn. Trust me. Brownies. Not Flowers. I have yet to meet a female who doesn’t love the stuff! And girls, just make these for yourself. In my experience, there is a slim chance hubby will be in the kitchen baking me brownies. I may be a little biased, being that I am obsessed with Nutella (there was this, this, this, and this, and these, don’t forget this, and oh yeah this. Oh, and I made my own) but these brownies were some of the best ever. They were super fudgy with lots of Nutella flavor. They did not look pretty at all (altitude thing again), my 6 year old even told me I couldn’t put them on the blog. But in the end he decided they tasted good enough, it didn’t matter what they looked like.
Slightly Adapted from The Kitchenarian
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup Nutella
2 Tbls cocoa powder
½ cup flour
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 8 inch baking pan.
Cream together butter and sugar. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Add salt, cocoa powder and Nutella. Stir in flour and chocolate chips. Pour into pan, bake for 25-35 minutes (keep an eye on them, mine took awhile). Cool completely before serving.
