Nutella Magic Bars

Nutella Magic Bars – Quick and easy bars loaded with Nutella, hazelnuts and chocolate chips! These bars will disappear quickly!

I grew up having traditional Magic Bars that my grandma made that were loaded with coconut, chocolate chips and butterscotch. They are a classic and so good! I modified them a little for these Christmas Magic Cookie Bars that are also a big hit.

But today we are going crazy with Nutella and hazelnuts. If you are a fan of Nutella, these are a must for you.

How To Make Nutella Magic Bars

  1. Place the butter and the graham crumbs in a mixing bowl and stir until combined. Spread the mixture evenly on the bottom of the prepared pan. You could also mix this together in the baking pan and use a spatula to spread into place.
  2. Using a teaspoon put little drops of Nutella all over the graham cracker crust. Optional, you can spread it all over the graham crust.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped and whole hazelnuts on top of Nutella followed by the chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the chocolate chips.
  5. Bake for about 35 minutes until the bars are set. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before slicing.

Can I Use Other Nuts

Absolutely! Hazelnuts go well since that is what Nutella is made from, but they can be hard to find. So you really can use any nut you like. Walnuts or pecans would be my first choice, but even peanuts would be delicious.

Storage

You want to cover Nutella Magic bars or store them in an airtight container. They will last for 4-5 days at room temperature. You can also freeze them. They will last in the freezer for 3-4 months. Just let them sit on the counter to thaw before serving.

These were a disaster. There is no way they should cook for 35 minutes. Totally burned on the bottom and the bars were way too crisp. Magic bars should have a nice creamy texture from the condensed milk, as I have made them a million times in my life, these were a waste of time and ingredients. Very disappointed!

Hi, I made this but with a few changes- I ended up reducing the butter used in the crust so it was crisper and reduced the amount of hazelnuts in the filling, and they were lovely, thanks for sharing the recipe :) http://thesugarlump.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/nutella-magic-bars.html
