No Bake Nutella Bars – turn a classic no bake cookies into a quick and easy bar with lots of creamy Nutella.
If there is one thing that I like it is desserts that don’t require baking. Especially in the middle of summer when you really don’t want to turn on the oven. There are so many great options, but if you are a fan of chocolate and Nutella, then you are going to love these!
Nutella bars are a twist on classic No Bake Cookies. Only there is no scooping individual cookies and they are loaded with chocolate hazelnut spread to make them extra delicious.
These have been on the blog for long time, but it was time for a little facelift. Better pictures and more helpful instructions are no included. But it is still the same great recipe, so if you have made them before, don’t worry they will be the same!
What You’ll Need
- Granulated Sugar
- Cocoa Powder
- Vanilla Extract
- Old Fashioned Oats
How To Make No Bake Nutella Bars
- In a saucepan melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the sugar, milk, and cocoa powder. Bring the mixture to a full boil and cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the Nutella and vanilla until it is melted anc combined.
- Stir in the oats until everything is well coated.
- Pour into an 8-inch baking dish that is lined with foil or parchment paper.
- Allow to cool and set up for 2 hours before slicing to serve.
My Bars Didn’t Set Up
These are the same concept as when you are make Peanut Butter No Bake Cookies. If yours don’t set up, it really comes down to letting the mixture boil long enough. You are basically making a candy, by melting the butter and sugar together. So you need to make sure it cooks long enough for the sugar to set up. Having the mixture come to a full boil, and then cooking for a full minute, is what it takes. Use a TIMER!!
What Kind Of Oats To Use
You really can use whatever you have. I prefer to use Old-Fashioned Oats for these bars. They help the bars have a solid structure and give them a slightly chewy texture. But if you just have quick cooking oats, they really will set up and work just fine.
Once the bars are completely set, you can slice and store them covered for about a week. They do not need to be refrigerated, but if your house is warm, they may not stay completely solid. I like to store them in the fridge, so they stay perfect just a little but longer.
You can also freeze Nutella Bars. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 months. you can individually wrap the bars, or store a whole pan. Just make sure to tightly wrap and store in something airtight, so they don’t dry out.

- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
- In a heavy saucepan, bring the sugar, cocoa, butter and milk to a full boil. Boil for 1 minute.
- Remove from the heat and stir in Nutella, vanilla, and oatmeal.
- Pour mixture into a lined 8x8 inch pan, or drop by the spoonful onto a lined cookie sheet. Put in fridge to harden.
- I think they are best eaten cold, so I always keep mine in the fridge. Enjoy!
