Are you obsessed with celebrity chefs? Do you watch Food Network and The Cooking Channel in your spare time? Do you have tons of celebrity chef cookbooks? If you answered yes to any of those, you are in for a treat today! The #SundaySupper event this week hosted by Tammi from Momma’s Meals at is all about our favorite celebrity chefs.
I had a hard time picking my favorite, I like so many! But in the end I went with Rachael Ray. You either love her or hate her, and I am a fan 🙂 When I first started watching the Food Network, she was who I watched. I am not sure that she got me interested in cooking, because I always liked cooking, but she definitely made it more important to me. I remember watching 30 minute meals in my college apartment, probably when I should have been studying. I really don’t have a favorite recipe by Rachael, so I decided to try a new one this week.
A local popcorn store here sells Cinnamon Popcorn. I tried it, and I could have sworn it tasted just like Red Hots candy. It was a little spicy for my 7 year old, but I love it. Then the next week my Everyday with Rachael Ray magazine came in the mail, and she had a recipe for Red Hot Popcorn. I was excited to get in the kitchen and try it. It is super easy to make, and tastes just like the popcorn store. It is such a festive color too, it would be perfect to put in gift baskets or give to neighbors for the holidays.

Rachael Ray's Cinnamon Popcorn
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Red Hot candies
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 -4 cups popcorn, , plain
Instructions
- In a small sauce pan mix together the red hots and the water. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the candies are all melted.
- Spread popcorn out onto a lined baking sheet. Pour red hot mixture over the popcorn, and using a spoon toss to coat. Spread out into a single layer, and allow to harden before serving.

I like Rachael! And I like how easy this popcorn is! So festive!
I just found this recipe the other day and my daughter has been begging me to make it.
Yours turned out beautiful and just looks so delicious!!
I used to watch a ton of Food Network shows when I was learning to cook. Not as many now, but I still enjoy it from time to time. I just love the color of this popcorn – so fun!
I love anything cinnamon, this popcorn is so fun!
I like Rachel too. When I first saw the title of this post I was thinking sweet cinnamon not hot cinnamon. I am super sensitive to hot cinnamon. Whenever I have one of the candies I have to fan my mouth 🙂
Now this is an interesting twist on popcorn! You gotta love that color too!
Love this idea!
Cinnamon popcorn! 🙂 How fun, love this! and who doesn’t like Rachael Ray? I have her meals in under 30 min or less. . she is very practical for the everyday cook and people with kids I think.
I just made red hot cookies & have plenty of candies left!! So excited cause now I think I’m going to try this popcorn with the leftovers!! I love cinnamon! 🙂
Pinning!
I actually like Rachael Ray, too. I haven’t watched her in years but I always liked her friendly personality. Plus, one of my favorite potato recipes came from her show. Love this popcorn. Been meaning to share a popcorn recipe on the blog–thanks for the reminder. 🙂
