Strawberry Rum Punch

Strawberry Rum Punch Recipe – a fun cocktail with strawberries, white rum, ginger ale and strawberry sparkling wine. Fizzy, refreshing and great for any occasion.

I love a fun cocktail. Something like a blue margarita is great to have when you are hanging out with friends or just want something besides a glass of wine. So many people think cocktails are hard to make, so they only order them when they are at a restaurant. Like your classic Vodka Cranberry.

Well this strawberry rum punch is just 4 ingredients, and you can have it ready in 5 minutes.  It doesn’t get much easier than that! And it is better than the average Vodka Soda you would order at the bar.

Now, this strawberry rum punch is not like the Caribbean rum punch you had on a cruise or when you were in the Caribbean. That version often has more fruit juices and sometimes different types of alcohol as well.  Don’t worry, I will make a version of that type soon enough!

This rum punch recipe is just 4 ingredients and has lots of strawberry flavor.  I like to use frozen strawberries in this.  You let them partially thaw before making it. They soak up all the flavor of the drink and help keep it cold all at the same time.  And if you have extra rum after making this, check out these cranberry mojitos.

You could puree the strawberries or even mash them a little bit if you wanted to. The color and texture would definitely change if you added pureed berries, but it would add a lot more strawberry flavor.

I like my cocktails fizzy. Cranberry Vodka Cocktail is a perfect example.  I will pretty much add sparkling water, sprite, ginger ale, or something fizzy to every drink. And this is rum punch is no exception.  Here we use a bottle of sparkling wine and ginger ale.

The ginger ale adds sweetness, and extra fizz. But it also makes this drink not straight alcohol. Otherwise you are just adding rum to sparkling wine and that just seems dangerous.  So ginger ale turns it into a punch and makes it tasty!

So the next time you are getting together with friends or need to bring something to a party think about this Strawberry Rum Punch. Sweet, tart, tangy, fizzy and delicious!  It will disappear quickly!
