Ingredients
2
cups
masa harina
1/2
teaspoon
salt
1 1/2
cups
water
Instructions
In a large bowl mix together masa and salt.
Add 1 cup of water and mix. It will be similar to the texture of sand. Continue adding water until the dough comes together to form a ball.
Use hands to knead the dough for about 2 minutes until it is smooth.
Form into 12 equal size balls.
Place a ball of dough in between a layer of plastic wrap. Use a tortilla press or the bottom or a pan to flatten.
Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium high heat.
Add tortillas to the pan, heat for 15 seconds and flip. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden spots begin to form.
Remove from pan and best served immediately.
Notes
You can find Masa Harina in the baking aisle near the other flours in your grocery store.
