Tender strips of beef, colorful bell peppers, and a savory sauce come together in this easy Slow Cooker Pepper Steak recipe. A fuss-free dinner that's full of flavor and perfect for busy weeknights!
Thinly slice steak. If it is hard to slice, place in the freezer for 20 minutes before slicing. Place in the bottom of the crockpot. Arrange onions evenly over the top.
2 pounds sirloin steak or flank steak, 1 onion
In a bowl whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, cornstarch, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Pour over steak.
½ cup beef broth, ¼ cup soy sauce, 2 Tablespoons cornstarch, 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 Tablespoon minced fresh ginger, 4 cloves garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, ½ teaspoon black pepper
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours, or high for 3-4 hours.
During the last hour of cooking add the bell peppers and stir mixture.
1 green bell pepper, 1 red bell pepper
Serve over rice.
Notes
You can add bell peppers at the start of cooking, but I think they get too mushy, so I like to add at the end.
