These juicy slow cooker steak bites are stewed for hours in a rich gravy made from beef broth, au jus mix, garlic, and onions. Serve them over rice or mashed potatoes for a hearty weeknight dinner!
Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat. Season steak bites with salt and pepper. Add to hot oil and brown for 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and add to the base of the crockpot.
3 pounds chuck roast, Salt & Pepper, 1 Tablespoon oil
Add the onion and garlic to the meat and stir to evenly combine.
½ cup onion, 3 cloves garlic
Pour in the broth and if using sprinkle the au jus mix evenly over the meat.
1 cup beef broth, ½ packet Au Jus Mix
Arrange pats of butter over the meat. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours, or high for 3-4 hours. Stirring occasionally.
