Ingredients
1 32-
ounce
bag frozen tater tots
1
pound
lean ground beef
1
packet taco seasoning
or 3 tablespoons homemade seasoning
2
cups
shredded cheddar cheese
Recommended Toppings:
Tomatoes
Avocado
Sour Cream
Jalapeños
Cilantro
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 450F.
Cook the tater tots until they are nice and crispy, which should take 20-25 minutes (you can also use an air fryer if you prefer).
Cook the ground beefy in a skillet, breaking it up with a spoon or spatula, until it is browned and fully cooked. Drain off any excess fat.
Add the taco seasoning and 2/3 cup of water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-6 minutes.
Sprinkle the ground beef over the top of the tater tops, then add the shredded cheese over the beef.
Bake until the cheese is fully melted, about 5-7 minutes.
Remove from the oven and serve with your favorite taco toppings.
Notes
You can replace the ground beef with ground chicken, ground turkey, or your favorite taco meat.
Leftover totchos can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for at least 3 days.
Reheat leftovers in a 375F oven for 10 minutes.
