Today is the last day of school here.  This weekend is Memorial Day.  Summer is pretty much here.  Are you ready?  We have a busy summer ahead, so I am looking forward to this first few days where things are actually calm.  Unfortunately the weather is not really following along with the calendar.  Today the high is 62 with clouds and rain.  Not exactly the best weather for the 5th grade island party.  I guess we just hope that there isn’t lightening, so the kids can at least still have fun together.  So do you have fun plans for Memorial Day weekend?  Grilling out I hope!

May is National Barbecue Month, so I am giving you a recipe you are going to want to make sure you make to celebrate.  Grilled hot dogs are an old favorite and something pretty much everyone remembers growing up with an still enjoying today.  Whether it being at a ball game or in the backyard, hot dogs are a staple in so many homes.  But today we are putting a new twist on hot dogs and topping with with slow cooked barbecue pulled pork and coleslaw.  I mean….yeah.  I used FarmRich SmokeHouse Pulled Pork BBQ.  All the great slow cooked barbecue flavor ready for me, so I can decide to make these hot dogs at the last minute!  Be sure to check out the FarmRich site to see where you can get their products near you! I was able to purchase mine at my nearest Walmart.

My son and I first tried Barbecue pulled pork hot dogs when we were at Disney last fall. It was towards the end of our trip, and we were all tired of hamburgers and chicken tenders for lunch every day.  So we found this area and we both immediately ordered these hot dogs, they were so good!  I can’t believe it has taken me so long to make them at home!  So great ready or a delicious summer, and make this new twist on an old favorite part of your weekend!
