Chicken fries are juicy on the inside and extra crunchy on the outside, ready for dipping in 20 minutes! Serve with your favorite dipping sauce as an easy side or appetizer.
Set up a breading station. Bowl 1 – Mix together flour with the salt, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper and a pinch of cayenne Bowl 2 – Eggs, beat until well combined Bowl 3 – Mix panko and regular breadcrumbs.
1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup plain panko breadcrumbs, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon black pepper, pinch cayenne pepper, 2 whole large eggs, 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
Thinly slice the chicken breast into long, thin pieces like a French fry.
1 ½ pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, and gently shake off the excess. Coat well in the egg mixture, and then dredge into the breadcrumbs to evenly coat the entire fry. Place breaded chicken fries on a baking sheet.
Cooking
Oven – Arrange chicken on a baking sheet. Spray with oil and bake at 450º F for about 15 minutes, until cooked through and crispy.
Air Fryer – Spray the fries with oil and arrange in a single layer in your air fryer. Cook at 400º F for 10 minutes or until cooked through and crispy.
Frying – Heat cooking oil to 370º F. Add pieces of chicken to the fryer or pot and cook for about 5 minutes, or until cooked through. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
