Spicy Cajun Dipping Sauce – this makes a great dip for fish or French fries, topping for burgers, or even just a dip with chips. Perfectly creamy with a little kick!
My family likes their condiments. We don’t have many dinners, that don’t have a couple bottles of something, or bowls of sauces on the table. Sometimes store bought sauces just don’t give you the flavor you want, so you need to mix it up on your own.

Copycat Red Lobster Tarter Sauce pretty much beats any store bought one you can buy, and takes 5 minutes to mix up. And this Cajun Dipping Sauce is no different, really just a couple of minutes and you can enjoy.
We first made this cajun dipping sauce to serve with shrimp cakes instead of the avocado salsa we normally make. We all loved it so much, we started eating it with chips as a dip. And putting it on burgers and sandwiches.
What You’ll Need
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card.
- Mayo – take it to a whole new level and use Homemade Mayo
- Sour Cream
- Cajun Seasoning – you can use your favorite store bought or Homemade Cajun Seasoning
- Garlic
- Lemon Juice
- Hot Sauce – whatever your favorite brand is will work great!
How To Make Spicy Cajun Dip
It really doesn’t get much easier than this, you just mix everything together. And then taste to adjust if you want it spicier.
- Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl until it is smooth and combined.
- Taste to adjust the level of spice to your taste.
- Cover and place in the fridge until ready to serve.
Recipe Tips
- I do like to use full fat mayo for this recipe to get a nice smooth, creamy, and rich taste. But any fat level will work, so use what you have.
- Make it to your taste! If you like things extra spicy, add more hot sauce. This is mild to medium on the heat scale in my opinion, so if you want it more mild you can also use less hot sauce.
- You can definitely make this dip ahead, as it sits it just gets better.
Great Dipping Ideas
Get creative with what you use as dippers. It can be your basic frozen fish or chicken from the grocery store. But you can also use it on so many other things. These are just a few ideas.
- Grown Up Chicken Nuggets – skip the ranch and barbecue sauce!
- Crispy Baked Shrimp – works so well with seasfood
- Cheddar Bacon Chicken Tenders – spicy, cheesy, and bacon!
- 2am Breakfast Burger – add a little spicy to this fun burger
- Chicken Club Wrap– skip the mayo and use this cajun dip

I love a good dip, and this looks delicious! Can’t wait to try it with my chicken tenders!
Ooo This sounds delicious! I was looking for a creamy spicy dip that doesnโt use sriracha. Only because I donโt have any on hand. This sounds simple and delicious for anything!!
Excellent recipe! I used the recipe in 1 dipping cup and I used a separate dipping cup and added Heinz Relish! Both were awesome! Thank you!
