Everyone loves a good dip! My Easy Refried Bean Dip has always been a crowd favorite, so I figured it was time to mix it up and use the beloved black bean. It makes for a creamy dip, and comes together in literally 5 minutes. So it is perfect if you need a last minute appetizer or dip for a get together, or if you want a healthy snack to have on hand for the week. This black bean dip checks all the boxes and will quickly become a go-to recipe.

Why You’ll Love Black Bean Dip

  • Easy – There is hardly any chopping, just put the ingredients in a food processor and let it do the work!
  • Fast – From start to finish it takes about 5 minutes, no cooking or heating required. The food processor takes care of the dip in about 1 minute.
  • Control Spices – If you like things spicy, add in slice jalapenos to the dip. I left them out of the base recipe, but add them. Pick a mild salsa if you don’t like a lot of heat. Make it your own.
  • Healthy – most of the time we think of dips as being heavy and loaded with calories. This is a super nutritious dip that you can load up on and not think twice about!

How To Serve Black Bean Dip

This dip is naturally vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, low calorie, high protein….you name it! So what you serve it with is really up to you. If you want to continue with low calorie, the dipping peppers, carrot sticks or celery is a great option.

If you want it as just a great dip Homemade Tortilla Chips are delicious or your favorite cracker works great too.

This also makes a great spread. It is very similar in texture to hummus, so you can use as a sandwich spread or add to your tacos and burritos to bulk them up even more.

Do You Serve This Hot Or Cold

It is delicious both ways, so it is really just what you are looking for. You can put it in a little crockpot on low for a party to keep it warm. Sometimes I like to sprinkle on a little Cotija or Cheddar Cheese to let it melt for another delicious layer of flavor!

Storage

You can make black bean dip a few hours before you want to serve it. It will last in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. It is even great to Freeze! Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months. Then just let the thaw in the fridge before serving.
