Can you believe that July 4th is right around the corner?  Are you ready?  Are you hosting a party for friends, or are you going to a party?  We are visiting family in Wisconsin and are getting together for a barbecue with both sides of our family.   There will be lots of good food, good company, and then at the end of the night fireworks.  Not every barbecue can have fireworks, but I am here to give you some great tips to help you throw the perfect party!

Bean Bag Toss is the perfect game for a summer get together!

Great parties always start with food.  A barbecue or summer get together usually starts with the grill.  Burgers, brats, hot dogs, chicken, ribs…you name it. If it can be grilled, it is an appropriate food to serve.  I am all about easy when I am hosting a party.  I want as much done ahead of time, so I can enjoy the time with my guests.  So if I am doing brats, I make sure they are boiled in beer ahead of time, or the burgers are shaped and ready for the grill.  Like this Jalapeno Bacon Burgers, just 4 ingredients, and you are done!  Sides are the same way.  Store bought chips and dips are perfectly fine at my house.   Take advantage of summer fruits and vegetables!  Slice up some watermelon or strawberries.  Grill up sweet corn or zucchini to go along with your meal as well.

Easy summer entertaining set up

Don’t forget about the drinks!  You need to have a cooler stocked with everyone’s favorite. Dr Pepper Cherry® & Dr Pepper Vanilla Float® are both out this summer, and great for your gatherings. They are both available for a limited time at select Safeway and Alberstons stores. Have some cans on ice, and a couple 2 liters cold.  Make it easy for your guests to just grab a drink and enjoy on a hot summer day! Or maybe to cool down after a few bits of a jalapeno bacon burger 🙂  Don’t forget about entertainment.  Bean bag toss is our favorite to bring out when we have friends over.  But even just putting on some music is enough.

Jalapeno Bacon Burger {Dinners, Dishes, and Desserts}

Looking for a great burger to serve this weekend?  Try this Jalapeno Bacon Burger.  So easy, just a few ingredients, and everyone will love it.  The jalapeno adds a little spice, but not too much.  Add more or less depending on what your family likes.  And did you notice the bacon is actually inside the burger!  A little bit of bacon in every bite id definitely a good thing! I topped with our favorite guacamole and a chipotle mayo.  Simple, easy, but bacon is involved, so you know it will be good!
