Asian Salad – the classic Asian ramen noodle salad using a homemade dressing – no seasoning packet necessary!  Quick, easy, and great with any meal.

In the summer it seems like every weekend is filled with a get together of some kind.  You always need to come up with a dish to bring to a potluck or get together.  Well, today we have a super easy Asian ramen salad that you could bring every week.  Or just make for lunch because it is so good! Or make to serve with your Chicken Skewers on a Tuesday night.

I have been making this salad for years and it is always a hit. I sometimes just make it for me and add some chicken to make it a meal. By now, it is common knowledge that we like Asian flavors around here.  Kung Pao Chicken is must when you have a fridge full of veggies to use up.

So you all know the classic Asian salad recipe I am talking about right?  Mandarin oranges, a crushed pack of ramen noodles, and then using the seasoning packet to make a dressing.  A classic that goes way back!  Classics are classics for a reason, they are delicious!  This chicken salad with grapes is another example.  Why mess with perfection?!

The stuff in that seasoning packet isn’t always the best for you, so I have a homemade blend of those spices to use in the Asian salad dressing.  A little healthier, so you don’t have to feel guilty about serving this salad.  Plus it just tastes better! Serve with The Best Turkey Burger and you have one healthy tasty summer dinner.

This salad is super easy. It takes less than 5 minutes to assemble. You can make the Asian salad dressing ahead of time, and just stir it up again when it is time to serve.  Depending on how “dressed” you like your salad, there may be more than you need.  So just store it in the fridge and use on a side salad later in the week.

Especially if you are taking this to a party or making it ahead, you will want to wait to put the dressing on until you are ready to serve.  The rest is fine to assemble ahead of time though!  You just don’t want everything to get soggy. If you love Asian flavors you will not want to miss this Asian Chicken Salad either – a full meal of deliciousness!

I love to make this salad during the week as a side dish too.  If we are having Garlic Baked Chicken, this salad is great to serve with it.  I can make it while the chicken is cooking, and don’t have to worry about timing.  Plus it gets veggies in my family and they don’t complain!

So the next time you need a salad for something or just want to mix up your veggies with dinner.  Try this Asian salad recipe. So much better than you remember from years ago!  The Asian salad dressing is the key to a delicious and tasty salad. This Mediterranean Bean Salad looks like a great summer potluck salad too!
