Recipe Tips & Suggestions

  • Quality Chocolate. You want to use a good quality white chocolate since it will be the standout flavor in this recipe. You also want to make sure it melts smooth.
  • Food Coloring. If you want to avoid food dyes, use a natural or plant based dye. You can find them on Amazon or in stores like Whole Foods. Use what works for your budget and lifestyle.
  • Milk. You really can use any type of milk that you like for this. Just know that the more fat in the milk the creamier and richer your hot chocolate is going to be. If you want a coffee shop style hot chocolate you are going to want to opt for whole milk.
  • For A Party. Want to make a big batch for a party? Add all of the ingredients (double, triple etc based on how many you are serving) to a crockpot and set to low for a couple of hours to melt the chocolate. Set up a station with whipped cream, marshmallows, and sprinkles and let your guests make their own glasses.
