Christmas Jello Shots – liven up your holiday party with these fun and festive JELL-O shots that are dressed up for Christmas. Super easy to make and they will disappear in no time!

When it comes to the holidays, I love making things as fun and festive as I can! And these JELL-O Shots are just a fun idea! I used red and green JELL-O with some whipped cream and festive sprinkles, but there are so many fun ways to mix these up!

The Grinch is Green, so there are so many possibilities for you to get creative and fit whatever theme your party of event might be!

Holiday JELL-O Shots

Obviously these Christmas JELL-O Shots, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take this same concept and use it for other holidays! All you need is Jello in different colors, and they pretty much sell every color these days!

  • Halloween – use Green, Orange, and some whipped cream
  • Valentine’s Day – Pink, purple, and red or white
  • St. Patricks’ Day – green, white and yellow
  • 4th of July – red, white, and blue

Recipe Variations

These are red and green topped with whipped cream, but you really can mix up your Christmas JELL-O shots for whatever you are doing!

  • Use only red JELL-O, top with a little bit of whipped cream and strawberry that looks like Santa’s hat.
  • Use only green JELL-O, top with a little bit of whipped cream and a red candy heart for the Grinch
  • Use a peppermint liqueur with the red JELL-O and top with whipped cream and crushed candy canes.

What You’ll Need

  • Green JELL-O
  • Red JELL-O
  • Water
  • Vodka
  • Whipped Cream
  • Sprinkles

What Cups Do You Use

I find these 2-ounce disposable cups to be perfect because they also come with a lid, so you can store them in the fridge or make them ahead and not have them dry out.

How To Make Christmas JELL-O Shots

  1. Start by mixing 1 cup of boiling water with the green JELL-O packet. Mix for about 2 minutes until it is completely dissolved. Pour in 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of vodka and mix until well combined.
  2. Arrange your cups on a baking tray and then fill them up about 1/2 way. Place in the fridge to set for about 75 minutes.
  3. Once the green layer has set up, repeat the same process with the red package of JELL-O. Pour over the green layer and let it set completely. It should take about 75-90 minutes for them to be ready to serve.
  4. When they are ready to serve top with whipped cream and festive sprinkles.

Storage

Just like when you make traditional JELL-O, you will need to store these in the fridge. That is why I like these cups so much, because the lids make that super easy. You put the lid on, and the JELL-O stays fresh for about 5 days in the fridge.

You just don’t want to put the whipped cream on until you are ready to serve. That will melt and create a mess if you store it with the cream on.

Can You Make JELL-O Shots Ahead

Absolutely! I like to make them the day before a party, but you really can make them up to 5 days in advance. They will last in the fridge about a week.

What Alcohol Do You Use In JELL-O Shots

I like to use vodka because it is a more neutral flavor and works with more flavors of JELL-O. But you really can use anything, just sub it in for the amount of vodka in the recipe. Gin, Rum, Tequila….anything works.

Can You Make JELL-O Shots Without Alcohol

Yes, it is super easy to do! So if you want to have something for the kids or just don’t want the alcohol, leave it out! Use water in place of it, and they turn out exactly the same.
