Halloween Jello Shots – these fun layered Jello Shots in Halloween colors are great for your fall party! Super easy to make, and everyone will love how festive they are!

I feel like Jello Shots used to have the reputation of only being for drunk college students. But that seems to have changed in recent years and they are super fun to have for your themed party!

For a Cinco de Mayo party you can make Margarita Jello Shots or for your 4th of July Party you can make Red, White & Blue Jello Shots. So many different options!

For these Halloween Jello shots I used green and orange Jello. But you really can use whatever colors you want to get your desired affect. If you are hosting or attending a spooky party, purple and orange might be a better color combo!

Or you could use orange and yellow with the white whipped cream on top for the candy corn look. You really can mix it up however you want. Once you know the method it is just picking the colors and flavors you want!

Holiday Jello Shots

Obviously these are ready for Halloween, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take this same concept and use it for other holidays! All you need is Jello in different colors, and they pretty much sell every color these days!

  • Christmas – use Red, White and Green
  • Valentine’s Day – Pink, purple, and red or white
  • St. Patricks’ Day – green, white and yellow

What You’ll Need

  • Green JELL-O
  • Orange JELL-O
  • Water
  • Vodka
  • Whipped Cream
  • Sprinkles

What Cups To Use

I find these 2-ounce disposable cups to be perfect because they also come with a lid, so you can store them in the fridge or make them ahead and not have them dry out.

How To Make Halloween JELL-O Shots

  1. Start by mixing 1 cup of boiling water with the green JELL-O packet. Mix for about 2 minutes until it is completely dissolved. Pour in 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of vodka and mix until well combined.
  2. Arrange your cups on a baking tray and then fill them up about 1/2 way. Place in the fridge to set for about 75 minutes.
  3. Once the green layer has set up, repeat the same process with the orange package of JELL-O. Pour over the green layer and let it set completely. It should take about 75-90 minutes for them to be ready to serve.
  4. When they are ready to serve top with whipped cream and festive sprinkles.

Storage

You want to store these in the fridge. Most disposable cups come with lids, so you can cover them and place them in the fridge for about a week. You just want to wait to add the whipped cream until you are ready to serve, or it will melt and be a mess.

Can You Freeze JELL-O Shots

No, you can’t freeze jello. But you can make them ahead up to about 5-6 days. So they are great to have done a day or two ahead of your party, and then you don’t have to worry about them!

What Is the Best Alcohol For JELL-O Shots

I prefer to use vodka. It has a relatively neutral flavor, so you will still takes the flavor of the JELL-O you are using. That being said they will taste strong, so you want to use a good quality vodka. You don’t have to use top shelf, but you also don’t want to use the cheapest available.

Can You Make These Without Alcohol

Absolutely! If you want to make these for kids or have friends who don’t drink attending your party. Just use water in place of the vodka and they are still fun to have at parties!
