Nutella Crepes – an easy crepe recipe that is filled with Nutella and dusted with powdered sugar. Fill them with berries or banana to make them even better!

I first had a crepe when I was in middle school French class. Our teacher made the batter and we all got to take turns making one and trying to flip it. And then we got to fill it with Nutella and it was pure deliciousness!

Since that day I have a soft spot for crepes and love to stop at different food stalls all over the world to try them. And in pretty much every country I have visited a crepe with Nutella has always been on the menu!

Nutella Crepes

Crepes are a super simple pancake type recipe that you can make in just minutes. The batter comes together in a blender and then you just cook them individually in a skillet. You can fill them with sweet or savory, and everyone can really make their own.

Crepe have become a popular street food all over the world, so you will see them filled with literally anything! So great creative, they really are a blank canvas for you to have fun with.

Nutella Crepes start with an easy crepe recipe that you can make in your blender. Then it is really how you fill them that makes them Nutella crepes. My husband likes to fill his with a berry sauce instead, there are lots of options.

How To Make Crepes

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card.

A blender makes the batter come together in just minutes and gets it to the perfect consistency. You want it to be thin, but not too thin. It will be similar to heavy cream when you are done.

  1. Add milk, melted butter, vanilla and eggs to the blender and process until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add the flour in batches and process until it is completely smooth and blended.

The batter is done and now you are ready to cook. This is the part that takes a little bit of patience, because you can only do one at a time, unless you have multiple pans going.

How To Cook Crepes

  1. Heat a 10 inch skillet over medium heat until it is nice at hot. The pan needs to be hot for the crepes to cook evenly.
  2. Brush the pan with butter and then scoop just shy of 1/4 cup of batter into the pan.
  3. Immediately swirl the batter to coat the bottom of the entire pan. It will be very thin, that is just fine!
  4. Cook for about 2 minutes, and then run a spatula around the edge to loosen it and then flip.
  5. Cook for another minute until lightly browned.
  6. Remove from the pan and continue the process with the remaining batter.

Can Crepes Be Made Ahead

The batter is really great to make ahead and have in the fridge waiting for you to cook. You can make it the day before and then just make crepes for breakfast or dessert the next day.

You also can make them a few hours before you need them and keep them covered so they don’t dry out. I think they are best fresh, but they do keep relatively well for a day.

What To Fill Crepes With

After the crepes have all been cooked you are ready to fill them! Obviously, I used Nutella for these, and I have to admit it is my favorite, but there are other options.

So many possibilities everyone can pick their favorite and fall in love!
