Walnut Blondies – rich and buttery blondies filled with walnuts. The perfect treat to enjoy with a cup of hot tea!

I grew up with tea as a staple in our house. My grandma was born and raise in England, and my dad was born there. So the English tradition of tea was instilled in my pretty quickly. I remember going to visit family in England when I was about 5 years old, and my brother and I getting a cup of hot tea on the plane ride home. The stewardess thought we were kind of crazy. To this day, my dad will have tea at least 3 times a day, most of the time 4. He calls it the “miracle drink”, and if I don’t have it with him, I am given a hard time for the rest of the day!
Do you know what makes tea in the afternoon better than any other time of day? The snacks! Today I made Walnut Blondies to go with a delicious cup of hot tea. In England you usually get a biscuit with your tea. A biscuit it like a little cookie; just a couple bites of something sweet. These blondies seemed like they would definitely be English approved. Slightly sweet, buttery, and full of walnuts. Plus, they come together in just minutes using a bowl and a spatula; no mixer required!
If you know one thing about the English you know they are picky about their tea. Apparently that is something I picked up from my family. When my family travels to the US, they always pack tea bags with them. I always thought this was funny, until I started traveling and realized all the different tastes of tea out there. We are really lucky here to have so many different choices and blends of tea to pick from these days.

So take a break this afternoon and enjoy a walnut blondie with a cup of Tazo hot tea, so you can sip joyfully!

I would love to try these! I like walnuts in everything 🙂
Buttery and not too sweet, but came out rather salty. I like it enough to try again and play around with the salt and baking powder amounts to tame the saltiness.
Yum! Easy to make and eat… Will, make again!
Used dark brown sugar because my husband borders it, and it was excellent! Small enough to make for a small household, and super easy!
