Red Wine Spritzer – a cool and refreshing cocktail you can enjoy anytime of day! So easy, you can make in minutes, with just 2 ingredients!
I can’t believe that the 4th of July is here! Well not today, but so close. Time to figure out what you are going to make, what you are going to drink, and who you are going to spend it with. Are you going to grill out and then head to see fireworks? We are spending the day with friends we haven’t seen in years! Lots of catching up, good food, drinks, and then fireworks to close out the night. Exciting to spend the 4th of July like we did years ago when all our kids were babies!
Are you a wine drinker? I am definitely a red wine kind of girl. But I have a lot of friends who are white wine drinkers, or maybe not big fans of wine. Which is when a wine is a great alternative. Plus, it is so darn simple to make. This Red Wine Spritzer has just 2 ingredients, you can’t get any easier than that! To make this version you just fill a glass with ice, then fill with half red wine and half Sprite. Fizzy, fruity, and refreshing. I have made this cocktail in the past with simple syrup and then just stop with club soda for the fizz. But this is so much easier!
One of my best friends is a beer drinker. Whenever we get together she gets beer, and I get wine. She actually tried a red wine spritzer at a restaurant and was telling me I should try it. So we made these together and spent the day sitting outside and enjoying a drink together. Super refreshing on a summer day. The recipe below is written using the full bottle of wine, but you can make just 1. The ratio is just 1 to 1, so fill your glass with half wine, and then just top with sprite and you will be glad you did!
- 1 bottle red wine (any kind)
- 1 liter sprite
Fill glasses completely with ice.
Fill half way with red wine, top with sprite.
Stir gently to serve.
