Are you ready for the 4th of July? Only a few days away!! I am so ready for a couple days off from work, relaxing, grilling out, and fireworks. One of my best friends is going to be in town for a couple days, so it will be great to be able to spend time with her as well. If you need a few recipes ideas, be sure to check out my Summer Barrbeque Round Up! Everything from burgers to dips to fun summer drinks all in one place for you.
I have shared just a handful of red, white, and blue treats over the last couple years. Patriotic Pretzels and Ice Cream Sandwich Cookies were two I shared last year. These muddy buddies might be the most addicting and easiest of all the recipes though. You can have these ready in 10 minutes, which is perfect when you are prepping for a party. You might want to double the recipe if you are feeding a crowd, because once you start it is really hard to stop. I am an over the top chocolate fan, but even these got me. I had to pack them up immediately and get them ready for my husband to take to work, or it would have not been pretty.
Traditional muddy buddies are one of my favorites, and even my husband who doesn’t like chocolate likes those. Every time I make a different version, he has to compare it to the original. I am happy to say, I finally found a version that completely won him over. White cake is one of his favorites, so I shouldn’t be surprised that he loved the cake batter version. Tastes just you are getting to lick the beater while making a cake 🙂 M&M’s has a new birthday cake flavor, that I used here. I only used the red and blue M&M’s (there are only red, yellow, and blue in the bag) to make them patriotic, but feel free to use all the colors at your house! The more candy the better!
