I am super excited to share this recipe with you today. Nachos are one of my favorite things, but I am very particular about them. I do not like cheese sauce, I like real shredded cheese that is melted. I also like some toppings, but I don’t want them over crowded. Meat and cheese melted over the chips is perfect. Then you can have a couple fresh toppings to serve.

Nachos are kind of made for game day. So you can make a big tray of these Italian Nachos for your game day party, and the whole crowd can enjoy. People will be going back all night.

There is an Italian restaurant in town that serves Italian Nachos. Egg roll wrappers are fried to make homemade chips. Then topped with Italian sausage and an Alfredo cheese sauce. Topped off with fresh tomatoes, black olives, and spicy banana peppers. I opted for shredded Mozzarella cheese instead of the Alfredo sauce, and it was delicious!

I used al fresco Italian chicken sausage to make my nachos over the top. I love al fresco products. They have over 30 chicken products to have you covered from breakfast to dinner. They have at least 50% less fat that traditional pork and beef products. So when you are putting your Italian chicken sausage on chips and covering it in cheese you can feel a little bit better about it!

The fun thing about these nachos is you can use whatever you want for the base. I fried up egg roll wrappers for mine, but regular tortilla chips would work just fine. You could even use waffle fries if you wanted, like these Idaho Nachos! I am not a huge fan of banana peppers, but my husband loves them, so I served them in a bowl on the side. That way we could both get what we wanted!

al freso sausage is made with 100% natural ingredients, with no preservatives, nitrates or nitrites, and is MSG and gluten free. So if you are hosting a part for the big game or another get together, you can feel good knowing these Italian Nachos are fit for everyone at your party. The really nice thing about this recipe is you can do the prep work ahead of time! So when it comes game time all you have to do is bake and melt the cheese! 20 minutes and done you can be going to town on these nachos!
