Everything you love about S’mores and a gooey, fudgy, and delicious S’mores Pie! Super easy to make and just a handful of ingredients.
When you think about s’mores there are obviously 3 parts that have to be involved. You need graham crackers, a melty, gooey chocolate, and then a toasted marshmallow. So when coming up with s’mores pie they need to be involved. This has a graham cracker crust and an almost fudgy creamy chocolate filling. Then it is topped with marshmallows that get browned you however you like them.
If you are one of those that likes burnt black marshmallows, just leave it under the broiler for another minute. I personally like them just lightly golden brown all around, so this is the perfect level of doneness for me!
What You’ll Need For S’mores Pie
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card.
- Graham Crackers – you can buy graham cracker crumbs in to store or use the full crackers to make your own crumbs at home.
- Granulated Sugar
- Melted Butter
- Heavy Cream
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate
- Eggs
- Vanilla Extract
- Marshmallows – you can use mini marshmallows to have the entire top of your pie covered, or the large sized and just arrange them on top like shown.
How To Make S’mores Pie
- Make Crust. Mix together graham cracker crumbs, melted butter and sugar until combined and everything is “wet”. Pour into a pie plate and press up the sides and across the bottom to make a pie crust. Place in the fridge to chill while you make the filling.
- Make Filling. In a small saucepan bring the heavy cream to a simmer over medium heat. Pour hot cream over semi-sweet chocolate in a large bowl. Let it stand for 4-5 minutes for the chocolate to melt. Whisk until smooth and combined. Whisk in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Mix in vanilla.
- Bake. Pour the chocolate mixture over the pie crust and bake for about 30 minutes. The crust will be golden brown and the pie will be set. When you gently shake the pie, the center will no longer shake or jiggle.
- Cool. Remove the pie from the oven and cool completely. You can let it sit at room temperature or store in the fridge for a couple of hours to chill.
- Topping. When you are ready to serve, is when you will top with marshmallows. Preheat your broiler and arrange the marshmallows over the top. Place under the hot broiler for 2-3 minutes, you really want to keep an eye on them, they can go from white to black in a matter of seconds. Remove from the oven when they are as brown as you like.
Recipe Tips & Suggestions
- Chocolate. I used semi-sweet chocolate, so it isn’t too sweet. If you want the classic s’mores taste you could use all milk chocolate or a mix of semi-sweet and milk chocolate. If you are a dark chocolate person, use dark chocolate. Whatever you like works great in this recipe. Just make sure your chocolate is chopped in small pieces (like chocolate chips) so it melts easily with the heavy cream.
- Let it cool. You really want to let the pie cool completely before serving. The chocolate needs to set up as it cools or it will be a little runny and not the right texture.
- Storage. Store the pie in the fridge for the best results. You can serve it cold, or heat in the microwave for a few seconds to get a gooey marshmallow. It should last for up to 3 days in the fridge.
- Graham crackers. You can use the store bought crumbs you can find in the baking aisle, or use your food processor or blender to crush the crackers at home. I really don’t like to use a store bought pie crust for this, as I don’t think it is thick enough to really stand up to the filling.
