This Cherry Almond Cocktail has the classic cherry and almond flavor combination in a fun and fruity vodka cocktail!

I love a good cocktail, especially one that uses very unexpected ingredients in a new way. Like using frozen cherries? That is not common, but it makes for a super refreshing and delicious drink.

Cherry Almond Vodka Cocktail; Frozen cherries are perfect for a spring cocktail {Dinners, Dishes, & Desserts}

Cherry and Almond go so well together in just about any form.  Cookies, cakes, and even in cocktails.  Just a tiny bit of almond extract is all you need to get that great flavor combination.

Frozen cherries are perfect to give it that frothy, super cold feel.  If it is cherry season and you have fresh pitted cherries they would work well too, you would just want make sure you have lots of ice!

What You’ll Need

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card.

  • Frozen Pitted Cherries
  • Sugar – the cherries are pretty tart, so this helps sweeten it up. You can omit if you like a tart cocktail or you could add simple syrup to taste at the end
  • Lime Juice
  • Almond Extract
  • Vanilla Vodka – regular vodka would work as well if you don’t have vanilla
  • Sparkling Water – I used cherry flavor to up the flavor, but lime or even club soda would work well.

How To Make Cherry Almond Cocktail

  • Add the cherries, sugar, and 1/4 cup of vodka to a blender and process until nice and smooth.
  • Add in the lime juice, almond extract, and remaining vodka until well combined.
  • Pour into a pitcher, and mix in the sparkling water.
  • Serve over glasses of ice

Can I Make This Without Alcohol

If alcohol isn’t your thing, just leave out the vodka and add more of the sparkling water.  You could even switch it up and use flavored sparkling water to give this even more flavor.

Can I use fresh cherries?

Yes, you definitely can. Make sure to remove the pit and use them as the recipe states. You can choose to freeze them first, or you can add some ice in the blender when you process everything to give it that slushie texture the frozen fruit does.

Can I make this ahead?

You absolutely can puree the fruit and vodka together ahead of time. Store in the fridge until ready to serve. When you are ready to serve mix with the sparkling water and pour over ice.
