Malt Chocolate Chip Whopper Cookies – chewy chocolate chip cookies with a fun twist! Mix in malt powder and whoppers to make them just a little more fun!
Cookies are always a fun treat to make and something everyone is excited to see. There are plenty of people, myself included, who sometimes make cookies just so you can have some of the dough!

For this fun twist on Chocolate Chip Cookies I added malted milk powder to give it a little more flavor and then added Whopper candy! You really can mix it up and use whatever candy you like. But the malt powder and the whoppers work really well together.
And if you can get your hands on Maltesers, use those in place of the Whoppers! They are the European version of the candy that they are so good. My Grandma used to bring them for us when we were kids, and they are still a huge favorite.

What You’ll Need
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card.
- Butter – I always use unsalted butter when baking
- Granulated Sugar
- Brown Sugar
- Eggs – you will use a whole egg as well as an additional egg yolk
- Vanilla Extract
- All-Purpose Flour
- Baking Powder
- Salt
- Baking Soda
- Malt Powder
- Chocolate Chips
- Whopper Candies
You can take this base recipe, and mix in anything your family would like. Peanut butter cups, peppermint patties, M&M’s, or whatever heart desires. Seriously, it is that easy to mix it up and try new cookies. You can even divide the cookie dough and make a couple different versions out of one batch. Or freeze some of the dough for later.

Recipe Tips & Suggestions
- Make sure to let your butter come to room temperature, this helps the sugars really combine with the butter and leads to thicker, chewier, and better cookies.
- When baking cookies be careful not to over bake. The best cookies are slightly underbaked. They will continue to cook as they cool on the baking sheet, so for the best soft and chewy cookie keep an eye on them and take them out about a minute before you think they are done.
- Store your cookies in an airtight container for 4-5 days. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months.
- If you want fresh baked cookies on demand, scoop the balls of raw cookie dough onto a baking sheet and freeze. Once frozen store in an airtight container or freezer safe bag. Then just take out when you are ready to bake them!
