Have you ever been to Rock Bottom Brewery?  It is a National chain that has great burgers.  We were there a couple of weeks ago for my son’s birthday and I spotted the 2am burger on the menu. I think 3 of the 5 people we were with were drooling over it.  So I knew that I had to recreate it at home.  Because who doesn’t want all their favorite breakfast foods piled high on a burger?!

Pretty sure this is the 3rd year I am joining my good friend Kita, from Girl Carnivore, in #BurgerMonth.  A full month dedicated to over the top burgers all over the internet.  Plus we have an amazing giveaway involved! Be sure to scroll to the bottom to enter, and check out all the other amazing burgers this month by following #BurgerMonth on social media.

So back to my epic burger.  A burger that is topped with hash browns, bacon, and a fried egg.  It may be a little messy to eat, but totally worth it.  To make this 2am breakfast burger as good as it can be, I went all out and ground my own meat!  My husband gave me the meat grinder attachment for my Kitchen Aid for Christmas.  And after spending time at Certified Angus Beef Brand headquarters last summer learning to grill and smoke meat, I was confident I could do it.  This is an extra step you are not required to do, you can really just use ground beef.  CAB sells ground beef, so if you really want your burger to go over the top, get your hands on the good stuff.

After a few days of rain last week, I made these burgers for dinner.  The guys went nuts.  My husband has always been a huge fan of burgers with a fried egg on top.  So I knew this would be a hit with him, but my 11 year old love it too.  Definitely a full meal in one burger, but I went a head and served it with some onion rings on the side.

Because if you are going to do a copycat of a restaurant burger at home, you need to go all out. I have a feeling breakfast burgers are going to become a new weekly dinner request this summer. And you know what sauce would be amazing on these burgers, and to dip those rings in?  Canes Sauce.  So good with just about everything.
