We made it to Wisconsin! The drive through Nebraska was so much worse than normal. We had to sit on the interstate for 40 minutes for no apparent reason. Not to mention the 12 sections of construction we had to drive through. I am seriously not looking forward to the drive back! Despite all the delays our son did awesome, I think the kid was made for road trips!
I am on the other hand enjoying the freedom of this trip. If my 7 year old had his way, my husband and I would go back home for the week, and then just come pick him up on Friday. He is loving the time with Grandma and Grandpa, and doesn’t want us here. He wants us to go to dinner by ourselves, he wants them to put him to bed, he wants to play sports with them. Going home will be a rude awakening for all of us.
So far this summer I am obsessed with making different drinks. Usually I am content with iced tea and lemonade, but this year I keep mixing it up. This has to be one of my favorites though, and it is so easy. Plus, it has next to no calories! I think I drank the full 2 quarts in a day and a half. It is such a pretty color, this would be wonderful for a party. Putting in a few raspberries for a garnish would be a nice touch as well.
- 1 bag frozen raspberries (thawed), or 1 pint fresh raspberries
- 2 packages Crystal Light powder (enough for 2 quarts)
- Water
- In a blender or a food processor puree the raspberries. Pour through a strainer to remove the seeds. Dump the juice into a 2 quart pitcher. Add the Crystal Light (or your favorite powder lemonade mix). Fill up to the 2 quart line with water. Stir until well combined. Serve cold.

This is just perfect to beat the heat…I loved this lemonade…bursting with flavours and what a lovely colour!!
Oh these sounds perfect for summer and such a pretty colour!
Erin this looks and sounds amazing! What a perfect summery drink! And your photos of this are gorgeous!
Such a pretty color! Makes me thirsty!
We get the same thing when we take Dudette up to visit my parents. We may as well just go off and do our own thing. All she wants is them. I’m glad you made it to Wisconsin safe and sound, though I’m sorry about all the traffic. Hopefully you’ll be able to make a gallon jug of this raspberry lemonade for the trip back to help you not think about all the time just sitting in the car watching constructions workers. It looks delicious.
I’m all for a pretty drink with no extra sugar. This looks great, Erin!
We drove through Nebraska on our way to Ohio from Denver 2 years ago, and I swear it was the same thing. They always have construction! And it smells! Have fun on your vacation!
Oh, summer traveling is such a pain with construction happening on virtually every major highway in every single state!! We always have to add at least an extra hour to trips to allow for delays. Glad you are having fun, though.
That lemonade sounds wonderful. I love that it’s a fruit base.
Looks very refreshing, Erin! I love the variety of recipes you post – there is always something new and exciting!
Glad you made it to Wisconsin. I am terrible sitting in a car for long trips. This looks like refreshing drink. I love mixing berries with lemonade. YUM!! Perfect drink to sip by the pool.
Hope your drive back is much better!
Oh, you gave me an idea to make your recipe using my raspberry syrup! That is so perfect!!!! Wonderful recipe. I never had raspberry and lemonade together. Love it!!
wish I had a glass earlier at the beach! so refreshing! Love the pinkish color
It sounds like your son is having such a great time
And your lemonade looks, and sounds refreshingly delightful!
Enjoy your time!
Looks wonderful and refreshing. Enjoy the time with the grandparents!
We don’t have Crystal Light so I’ll have to make my lemonade the hard way but I’m dying to taste this!
I could drink this on the patio and be perfectly content! Traffic for no reason (especially in construction zones when people aren’t working and the road doesn’t need to be closed) drives me nuts! Good luck on the drive back and enjoy your time away
Looks so pretty and refreshing. Might also be good with some vodka in it…I’m just sayin’.
I like the way you think!
I love this drink. Isn’t Crystal Light incredible. I keep the mini’s in a mason jar so I can grab them to add to my water bottles at the barn. So many great choices. Love the color of this. Makes me want to mix one up and go sit on the patio. But I won’t. Cuz it’s midnight. And there’s mosquitoes.
I love flavoured lemonades, and nothing beats raspberries in my books! This drink is gorgeous!
I am so thirsty now! The color is beautiful, reminds me of how much I like Summer;-) Enjoy your visit!
Glad you made it safely! A beautiful drink for summer, the color is gorgeous
Have a great time my friend
