Last night we went to my son’s first grade musical, Dinostars.  He played a Pterodactyl, and had a speaking part.  He did a great job!  All the kids did a great job, they were all so cute dressed up like dinosaurs, singing their songs. Amazing how grown up he is getting.  He turns 7 next month.  While he was at school yesterday, I went out and bought him a new pair of shoes.  They were the same size as mine!  Seriously?!  My 6 year old has the same size feet as me?  I am really not sure how I feel about this.

Despite how big he is getting, I can still win him over with treats .  Hopefully that will never change.  He was a big fan of these bars.  He doesn’t always like white chocolate, but he did in here!  I had seen these White Chocolate M&M’s all over the place, I just had pick up a bag, and try them myself.  My husband loves butterscotch, so I thought I would mix the two together.  He loved these Blondies I made, but I wanted the butterscotch flavor to go all throughout, instead of just chips.  So I melted the chips down, and stirred it into the batter.  Brilliant!  I am seeing this technique working out well with other recipes too.

  1. Mmm, these look yummy, especially withe butterscotch melted into it! Glad you and your son both liked the play, dinosaurs are always adorable!

  2. You are being so unfair, showing me this in the morning 😉

  3. I’ve seen those white chocolate M&M’s in a few recipes lately. I really love what you did with them! I bet your son will always remember fondly coming home from school or a play to have wonderful treats waiting for him. I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

  4. Loving these butterscotch blondies, Erin! And too funny about the shoe thing. I don’t have kids yet, but I have two younger siblings that are 15 years younger than me and they are getting so much and I actually wore my 12 year old sister’s boots last winter. Crazy how fast they grow!

  5. Great combination of flavors! I can’t believe your 6 year old has feet as big as yours. You must be really tiny or your son is going to be super tall! I can’t wait until my daughter is my shoe size so we can share shoes. Although, I’m a size 10 so not sure she will have my big feet or not!

  6. Holy cow you must have small feet… at least I hope that’s the case. How cute, Dinostars! My son would have loved to take part of that… he adores dinosaurs. 🙂 Okay… these bars look beyond yummy.. butterscotch and M&M! Wow..way to go! 🙂
