I trust that all the Dad’s out there had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend. Ours was low key, which is exactly what my husband requested. We have been so busy lately, he just want to have some time at home. I had big plans of going away for the weekend, hiking, biking, and seeing friends. But I was over ruled. I guess on Father’s Day, the father should get a say, huh? There were a few treats and a special dinner over the weekend though. I can’t just let the day completely slide by.
In case you couldn’t tell, I am all about citrus this spring and summer. I am not sure what it is, but I am mildly obsessed. I hope that you don’t mind! Between lemon bars, strawberry lemonade bars, grapefruit yogurt cake, and even fresh lemonade I think I have you covered. A couple years ago I made a Cherry Limeade Cocktail that I absolutely loved. So I decided why not use that flavor, and make one of my other favorite drinks? A Margarita!
Cherry and Limeade go so well together, you see the combination in so many different ways lately. Cupcakes, bars, even fruit dips. I might have to think of more ways to use it in the future, but for now I am happy with these margaritas. Making homemade limeade is so easy, the hardest part is juicing the limes. The really nice thing about making it at home, is you control how sweet or tart you want it. I even made a fun non-alcoholic version of the cherry limeade margaritas, so you can share with the kids or enjoy of alcohol isn’t your thing. Just be sure to label the pitchers accordingly, at your next party 🙂
