Easy treats are a must all year round. And these chocolate covered pretzels can’t get much easier! Plus you can decorate them for any holiday or occasion by just using different sprinkles. Red, white and blue – perfect for Patriotic Pretzels for the 4th of July.
I great up having chocolate covered pretzels using pretzel rods. And my mom would only make them at Christmas time. But I want them all the time. And I like the idea of using small pretzel twists, so you can 1 or 2 and then go back for more later.
There aren’t that many easy dessert recipes you can get done in 10 minutes, but these chocolate covered pretzels are one of them. No Bake Avalanche Cookies are another. Seriously, 10 minutes and one. You can’t ask for anything better.
During the summer I like no bake desserts like this that you just melt the chocolate. But even in the cold of winter, sometimes I just want easy. Not everything has to be crazy involved, right? And melting chocolate as pretty much the only step is perfect for anyone. Even the kids could make these without much help. And anytime I can get the kids to make treats, like Chocolate Avalanche Bars, without me helping I am happy.
These pretzels are obviously all dressed up and ready for Valentine’s Day, but you don’t have to just make them then. Red Velvet Cake Mix Cookies are another super easy Valentine’s Day treat. Because when it comes to holidays, just about any holiday, I am all about making things easy. Life is busy enough, we don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen just to make a themed treat!
To make these chocolate covered pretzels all you have to do is melt white chocolate. I like to use the block of solid almond bark. It melts smoother and faster than white chocolate chips. So it is easier to use. Then you just dip the pretzels and shake off the excess. Then I hold the dipped pretzel over the bowl of sprinkles and sprinkle over the wet chocolate. Any extra sprinkles fall into the bowl, and clean up is super easy.
You could completely coat the pretzels in white chocolate, but this method is kind of the cheater way. You could even use milk chocolate or dark chocolate. Or do a mix, whatever your family likes the instructions and the method are the same.
You could easily use forks and cover the whole pretzel, but I am all about fast and easy. Make these chocolate covered pretzels for any occasion and just mix up the sprinkles that you put on them!
- 1 pound white chocolate , melted
- 1 bag pretzels
- colored sprinkles
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Hold onto the top of the pretzel. Dip in melted chocolate. Gently shake off the excess.
- Hold over the lined baking sheet, sprinkle with the colored sprinkles.
- Place on baking sheet to let the chocolate harden.
