Chocolate Peppermint Cookies – these chocolate cookies have a hint of peppermint and are super fudgy.  They are topped with a white peppermint glaze and more peppermint candies.

You guys know that I am a huge fan of chocolate, right?  I mean my favorite homemade brownies are chocolate on chocolate. If there is a way to get more chocolate in something I am probably going to do it!  And come Christmas time, I am all about chocolate and mint/peppermint together.  Grasshopper Pie is pretty much my favorite Christmas dessert.

So these chocolate peppermint cookies will come as no surprise. They are a super rich, fudgy, and chocolate cookie that has a little bit of peppermint in there. And guess what else? More chocolate! Yep, a few chocolate chips are in there as well.

These chocolate cookies are so soft they pretty much just melt in your mouth. If you can keep from eating the entire batch when they are still warm, I would consider that a success. I used peppermint baking bits on the top of my cookies, but crushed candy canes would add even more flavor and texture to these cookies.

If you are looking for a new Christmas cookie recipe to try, this is a must!  I you like chocolate at all, you are going to love these.  They are so soft and chocolate-y and when they are warm it is almost brownie like.  These might be the single reason I gain 5 pounds in December.

The white peppermint glaze on the top is super simple to make. You just mix powdered sugar with a little milk and a couple drops of peppermint extract to get it a nice and smooth consistency.  You want to wait until the cookies are completely cool before you put the drizzle on, or it will just melt into the cookie.

These are such an easy Christmas cookie to make, you are going to be making them on repeat all December long.  They would be great to give teachers or neighbors as a gift as well. Trust me, everyone is going to love these!
