This buffalo chicken pizza is packed with juicy chicken, creamy ranch dressing, and gooey mozzarella cheese. With a golden brown crust and a tangy blue cheese garnish, this spicy pizza is a crowd-pleaser.

Pizza and buffalo chicken are two of the most popular foods. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that they go together so well. This homemade buffalo chicken pizza is one of my favorite recipes because it’s the perfect combination of the two.

The dough is chewy on the inside, with a crunchy, golden crust. The chicken is tender, moist, and spicy, and instead of pizza sauce this recipe uses ranch dressing. If you’re craving pizza, this recipe is for you. If you’re craving wings, this recipe is also for you! 

Why This Is the Best Buffalo Chicken Pizza Recipe

I find myself making this spicy and creamy homemade pizza all the time. Here’s why I know you’ll love it as much as I do.

  • Quick and easy. Making pizza at home doesn’t need to be a hassle, and this recipe is evidence. It takes less than half an hour to make this buffalo chicken pizza, and it’s such an easy recipe to follow. By using cooked chicken and pre-made pizza dough, this becomes a recipe that you can easily make on a weekday after work. 
  • Mess-free. Most people think of homemade pizza as being messy. But this recipe isn’t! All you need is a baking sheet and a medium-sized mixing bowl, and you’re good to go. This spicy pizza won’t leave your kitchen a mess. 
  • Great for parties. This is the ultimate party food. Kids and adults both love it, you can cut it into pieces of any size, and you can easily double, triple, or even quadruple the recipe to keep the deliciousness coming! 
  • Best of both worlds. This recipe really is everything you love about buffalo chicken and everything you love about pizza. It’s the perfect way to satisfy two cravings at once!

Ingredients Needed

Here’s everything you’ll need to make this spicy chicken pizza at home. Be sure to scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the page to see the exact amounts for each of the ingredients. 

  • Pizza dough
  • Ranch dressing
  • Chicken – You’ll want to use cooked and shredded chicken. 
  • Buffalo sauce – Use your favorite brand.
  • Mozzarella cheese – You can shred your own if you prefer, but pre-shredded cheese works great for this recipe.
  • Blue cheese – This is an optional ingredient, but I really love it. 
  • Parsley
  • Cornmeal – Cornmeal helps keep the pizza dough from sticking to the baking sheet.
  • Non-stick cooking spray

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Pizza

Here’s how you can make buffalo pizza in only 25 minutes. It’s so easy!

  • Prep: Preheat your oven to 450F and coat a large baking sheet with non-stick spray. Sprinkle the cornmeal over the baking sheet. 
  • Shape the dough. Roll the pizza dough into a circle on the baking sheet. The circle should be about 12 inches across. 
  • Bake the dough. Pierce the dough all over with a fork, then place the baking sheet in the oven for 5 minutes. 
  • Make the chicken. Put the chicken and the wing sauce in a mixing bowl, and toss until the meat is evenly coated.
  • Assemble. When the pizza dough is done, remove it from the oven and cover it with ranch dressing. Add the chicken on top, then cover with mozzarella cheese. 
  • Bake. Put the pizza in the oven and bake until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted. This should take about 12-15 minutes. 
  • Serve. Take the pizza out of the oven, and top it with the parsley and optional blue cheese crumbles. Slice and serve hot. 

Tips, Tricks, and Variations

This spicy homemade pizza is so easy and so delicious, here are some tips and variations to make it even easier and even better.

  • Make your own pizza dough. One of my favorite things about this buffalo chicken pizza recipe is that it’s so quick to make. And one of the main reasons is because it uses pre-made dough. But if you want to make the best possible pizza, I recommend starting with homemade dough. My No Knead Pizza Dough is an easy and tasty recipe to get you started. 
  • Use leftover chicken. I often make this recipe when I have leftover chicken that I need to get rid of. It’s the perfect way to use the chicken you have remaining from a different meal, even if it already has some seasonings on it. You can also make this pizza with rotisserie chicken for an easy, fast, and affordable option. 
  • Make the ranch dressing. I love ranch dressing, and making it at home has taken my sauce game to the next level. My Homemade Ranch Dressing is so much better than what you’ll find at the store, and it really makes this spicy chicken pizza a lot better. 
  • Turn, if needed. Not all ovens cook evenly. To keep your pizza from burning, check it halfway through the baking time. If you notice that one side of the pizza is cooking more quickly than the other side, give it a turn. 
  • Use a baking steel. If you have a baking steel or baking stone, I recommend using it for this recipe. Just put the steel or stone on a rack in the oven, preheat for an additional 20-30 minutes, and then put the baking sheet directly on it. This will help the pizza crust get nice and crisp on the bottom.

If I’m eating buffalo chicken pizza for dinner, then I’ll usually serve it with a salad or a side of vegetables. Here are a few of my favorites.

How to Store and Reheat Leftover Buffalo Chicken Pizza

Leftover pizza slices will last in the fridge for at least 3 days, as long as you store them in an airtight container. You can reheat in the microwave or in the oven, but the best way to reheat leftover homemade pizza is on the stove. Just put the pizza in a skillet and cover it with a lid or aluminum foil. Place over medium heat for 5 minutes. If the cheese isn’t melted, cook for another minute or 2. 

Can You Freeze This Recipe?

Yes, you can definitely freeze leftover spicy buffalo chicken pizza. Make sure the pizza is completely cool, then place it in a double layer of airtight plastic bags and store in the freezer for 3 months. You can reheat on the stove or in the oven, but allow a few extra minutes for frozen pizza to heat up.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza

Buffalo chicken pizza is the perfect mix between wings and pizza. It's packed with tender meat, creamy ranch, and spicy buffalo sauce, and takes less than half an hour!

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 2 1/2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 3/4 cup buffalo sauce, plus more for serving
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles, optional
  • Chopped parsley to garnish
  • 1 Tablespoon cornmeal
  • Non-stick cooking spray


  • Preheat your oven to 450F.
  • Spray a large baking sheet with the non-stick spray, then sprinkle cornmeal evenly over the top.
  • Roll the pizza dough onto the baking sheet in a 12-inch circle. Use a fork to pierce the dough evenly all over, then bake for 5 minutes.
  • While the dough bakes, mix the chicken and buffalo sauce together in a bowl until the meat is evenly coated.
  • Remove the pizza dough from the oven and spread the ranch dressing over the top.
  • Cover the pizza with the chicken mixture, then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with chopped parsley and optional blue cheese crumbles.


  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 days, or in a double layer of airtight bags in the freezer for 3 months.
  • Reheat by placing the pizza in a skillet and covering with a lid or aluminum foil. Place over medium heat for 5 minutes, then keep cooking if the cheese isn't yet melted.
  • This recipe is a great way to use leftover chicken or rotisserie chicken.
