French Martini Recipe

French Martini Recipe – This classic cocktail with pineapple juice, vodka and Chambord liqueur. It is sweet, tart, and absolutely delicious!

This post is sponsored by Dole Packaged Foods. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Years ago I was at happy hour with a friend and we wanted to try something different.  We asked the bar tender to make us something fun and fruity.  The next thing we know he is coming over with these two pink martinis.

We both took a drink and immediately fell in love. He finally told us how he made it, and we have both been making them at home ever since! With just three simple ingredients you can always have everything on hand to make these martinis. Especially when you are entertaining!

I am excited to partner with Dole for this recipe.  Pineapple juice is one of only three ingredients in this martini, so you want to make sure you are using the best quality ingredients. Dole canned pineapple juice is 100% fruit juice, full of natural ingredients and doesn’t have any added sugar.

I love that you can buy 6 oz cans of Dole pineapple juice, so you don’t have a big container leftover if you only want to make a couple drinks.  The small cans are the perfect size for 2 french martini’s. So you can have 1 can in the fridge and make this drink any night of the week.  Or make a bigger pitcher of them for your next get together!

What Is A French Martini

It is a martini that is made with vodka and raspberry liqueur that was first served in the 1980’s. A French Martini tastes fruity, sweet, slightly tart and very refreshing. It is a great drink to sip on and enjoy with friends.

Why is it called a French Martini

Really the question is what make’s a French Martini French? It’s name comes from the use of French blackberry and raspberry liqueur (Chambord) used in the recipe. You may see it called a Chambord Martini as well. It is served in a traditional martini glass, but that is at close to being a classic martini as it gets.  There is not any vermouth or other traditional ingredients involved.

French Martini Ingredients

  • Pineapple Juice
  • Vodka
  • Chambord – this is a raspberry liqueur you can find at your liquor store.

I like to use vanilla vodka for a little more depth of flavor, but regular vodka will work too. Chambord is a raspberry liqueur that you can find at pretty much every liquor store.  It is pretty much the only raspberry liqueur there is, and it comes in a round bottle, so it shouldn’t be hard to find.

How to Make a French Martini

  1. To make a great martini you do want to use a shaker. Fill it about half way with ice.
  2. Add the vodka, pineapple juice and Chambord.
  3. Shake well. You want to shake for about 30 seconds until the shaker is very cold.
  4. Pour into a martini glass and serve immediately.

The pretty pink color is perfectly festive for all of your parties and get togethers!

So if you are looking for a fun new cocktail to serve at your next get together or just to make on Friday night look no further than this French Martini.  It is so refreshing and one of my favorite cocktails.
