Herb Grilled Pork Tenderloin – a flavorful marinade with lemon juice and fresh herbs makes this grilled pork tenderloin super moist and tender. Great on chicken and fish too!
I love grilling in the summer. It can be just about anything, but as soon as the weather is nice I want all of our dinners to be cooked outside. Turkey Burgers are one of my favorites for a quick and easy weeknight meal. And if we have time, Smoked Baby Back Ribs are perfect for a lazy weekend day.
We eat a lot of pork in this house. Everything from your basic Oven Bake Pork Chops to something to roasts, pulled pork at more. It really is such a versatile protein that we absolutely love.
This Grilled Pork Tenderloin was on the first recipes I made on the blog. It was from a Taste of Home Healthy Cooking cookbook I got years ago. I am pretty sure it was the first time I ever grilled a whole pork tenderloin. It has been made quite a few times since in the summer. I like to serve it with BLT Pasta Salad and it is a great summer dinner.
The marinade for this pork is super easy to make. If you have fresh herbs use them, but dried work too. You can put this together in the morning and let the pork sit in the mixture all day. Then at dinner time you just have to grill the tenderloin. You could even make the marinade the night before and just add the pork in the morning before you head to work!
What Cut is Pork Tenderloin
It is a boneless cut of meat from the cut from along the spine area above the ribs and belly of the pig. Because it is not a muscle that is used for walking or moving like the shoulder it is super tender.
Is Pork Tenderloin Healthy
It is one of the leanest cuts of meat, so it is definitely a healthy choice. It is high in portein and low in fat, and it is comparable to a chicken breast. Plus it is high in Vitamin B and selenium. The marinade for this grilled pork tenderloin is heavy on herbs for flavor, and you are not adding a lot of other fat and calories to this recipe. Including the marinade a serving of this pork tenderloin clocks in at only 131 calories, so it is definitely a healthy choice if you are watching calories.
How to Make Grilled Pork Tenderloin
- All of the ingredients get mixed together in a bowl or ziploc bag. Anything that the tenderloin will fit in and be mostly covered.
- Add the pork and gently massage the marinade around the pork.
- Refriderate for 4-24 hours.
- Grill the tenderloin until the pork is cooked through. It will take about 30 minutes to grill an average sized pork tenderloin. It is best to use a meat thermometor to check for doneness.
You should cook pork tenderloin until the meat reaches 145 degrees F. Then you let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. This is how you make sure your pork is juicy and delicious. The temperature recommendations were changed a few years ago and now pork is so much more tasty! You don’t have to cook it until it is dry and like a hocky puck to eat it!

Congrats on the photo feature in Tastespotting. That's tough. I'd feel like a lottery winner as well 🙂
When I used to eat meat, pork tenderloin was always my favorite. Since I don't eat it now, my hubby gets to enjoy it. I'll have to try your recipe on him. I'm sure he'll love it.
