Pumpkin Hot Chocolate is the perfect way to sip your way into the cozy flavors of fall. With a blend of smooth chocolate, creamy pumpkin, and a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg, this drink feels like autumn in a mug.

Everyone is all about a pumpkin spice latte in the fall, and I am just not a coffee drinker. But Just because I don’t like coffee, doesn’t mean I don’t want a pumpkin spiced, warm and cozy drink. So I turned to hot chocolate and got it all ready for fall.

- Milk – What milk you use is entirely up to you. Whole milk will obviously give you a thicker and richer drink, but skim milk is delicious and saves on calories and fat. So it really is up to you!
- Pumpkin
- Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Brown Sugar
- Chocolate
- Vanilla Extract

How To Make Pumpkin Hot Chocolate
- Heat. Heat milk in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Season. Whisk in the pumpkin, pie spice, and brown sugar, whisk until smooth.
- Melt. Add in the chocolate, and heat until it is melted; about 7-8 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Strain. Once all the chocolate is melted, pour through a fine mesh strainer to remove any lumps.
- Serve. Garnish with whipped cream or marshmallows to serve.

Recipe Tips & Suggestions
- Double Recipe. This makes enough for about 2 glasses, but you can definitely double, triple or even more this recipe. If you are serving this for a winter get together, you can even make it in the crockpot.
- Spices. Don’t have pumpkin pie spice? Don’t worry! You can make your own in about 2 minutes with my Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice recipe.
- Pumpkin. Yes, this uses real pumpkin. You want to use pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. Just make sure it doesn’t have added sugar or spices and is plain pumpkin.
Make In Crockpot
If you want to make a big batch of this for a party, you can definitely use the crockpot. The added bonus is, it keeps it warm during your whole event! You simply want to 4 or 8x the ingredients listed below, depending on the size of your crockpot and the number of people you are serving.
- Put milk, pumpkin puree, pie spice, sugar and vanilla extract into your slow cooker. Whisk all the ingredients together.
- Chop your chocolate into small pieces and stir into the milk.
- Set the slow cooker on low for about 2 hours or until the chocolate is completely melted and it is warmed through.
- Set out mugs and then arrange some toppings; marshmallows, whipped cream, cinnamon and let people fix their own glass.
