Bacon In Air Fryer

Bacon In Air Fryer – make perfectly crispy bacon in minutes in the air fryer. Clean up is a breeze and it comes out perfect every time!

Everyone loves bacon, but sometimes it can be a pain to cook. When I was growing up we always cooked bacon in a skillet. So you have grease that splatters and you have to keep an eye on it to flip it, so it doesn’t burn.

Once I got my air fryer, cooking bacon was one of the first things I tried. And I have not looked back since! It is so easy, you don’t have to watch it, just let it too and it is super crispy and perfect.

You can obviously just enjoy the bacon as is with eggs or Banana Pancakes for breakfast. Of it is great to top a Spicy Bacon Cheeseburger or put in a Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap.

How Long To Cook Bacon In Air Fryer

This really will depend a little bit on the type of bacon that you use. Different brands definitely vary in thickness, so you will have to test the first time and then know for your favorite bacon. But here is an easy guide that will get you started!

  • Traditional Bacon (think Hormel or other popular brands) – crispy bacon will take 10-11 minutes. If you like your bacon a little on the softer side that will take 8-9 minutes.
  • Thick Cut Bacon – crispy bacon will take 12-13 minutes, and softer bacon will take 10-11 minutes.

I like to cook both types of bacon at 370º F.

How To Cook Bacon In Air Fryer

Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card.

  1. Arrange the slices of bacon in a single layer in your air fryer basket. You can use full slices or cut them in half. Whatever works to get the most slices arranged.
  2. Turn on the air fryer to 370º F and cook according to the guide above.
  3. Use a tongs to remove to a paper towel lined plate to drain.

How To Avoid Air Fryer From Smoking

The key is to get ride of the grease between cooking batches of bacon. Once you remove the cooked bacon, you will see there is a fair amount of grease under the basket. Pour this into a heat-safe bowl to discard or save for later.

Can I Use Turkey Bacon

Absolutely! It works great. The time and temperature will be the same as traditional bacon.

Do I Need To Use Any Oil When Cooking Bacon In Air Fryer

Nope! The bacon has enough fat that renders quickly as it cooks. So no extra oil is needed at all.

Do I Preheat The Air Fryer

Nope! Just like when you are cooking bacon on the stovetop, if you follow the package directions it says to add bacon to a cold pan. I like to do the same with the air fryer.

To make this recipe I used a Cosori 5.8 Qt Air Fryer. It is big enough that you can fit plenty of food in, and the basket comes out so you can easily shake, stir, or flip whatever you are making.
