What makes this Sausage Dip so great is how ridiculously simple it is. Just a handful of ingredients, one skillet, and you have a warm, melty, crowd-pleasing appetizer in minutes. You can keep it warm in the slow cooker, spice it up with hot sausage and even make it ahead of time.

  • Cream Cheese
  • Italian Sausage – I like to use hot for spice and flavor. But you can use whatever you like.
  • Diced Tomatoes with Green Chiles – I use Rotel tomatoes, you can use whatever heat level you prefer

How To Make Easy Sausage Dip

  • Brown Sausage. In a large skillet brown the sausage, breaking it into small pieces. Cook for 7-8 minutes, until it is no longer pink. Drain away the excess grease.
  • Mix. To a mixing bowl add all of the ingredients and mix until it is well combined.
  • Heat. You can spread into a baking dish or put in a crockpot on low. Cook until it is bubbly hot and the cheese is completely melted.
  • Serve. This is best served warm, so remove and serve immediately with tortilla chips or Fritos for dipping.

Recipe Tips & Tricks

  • Make Ahead. This dip is great to mix up the day before you need it and store in the fridge. You can then just bake or put in the crockpot before you need it, so it is hot and waiting for you.
  • Spicy. If you use mild or sweet Italian sausage this dip is not spicy. The tomatoes give it flavor, but not enough spice on their own with all the cheese. So if you like it spicy, use Hot Italian sausage, which I always do.
  • Cheese. You can use your favorite cheese for this. Pepper Jack would make a great option if you want it spicier.
  • Storage. This dip is great as leftovers. Store in an airtight container and then just reheat in the oven or microwave.
